RB Shane Vereen (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

With both Blount and Vereen limited in practice on Wednesday, look for one time fantasy hot cake pickup turned Belichick pariah, Jonas Gray to see a good portion of carries against the Jets on Sunday.

WR Brandon LaFell (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Tom Brady is hoping that LaFell is able to go on Sunday against the Jets, as he has emerged as one of the Patriots best red zone threats. It would be really tough for Brady and the gang if both LaFell and Julian Edelman aren't able to play on Sunday, but it wouldn't shocking as the Pats have already secured the division title.

LeGarrette Blount (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

If possible, it is best to stay away from Blount this week, as the Pats face off against the Jets on Sunday. The suffering Jets, believe it or not, boast a pretty stout rush defense, combine that with the fact that Blount is banged up and struggled last week, and with the mystery that is the hot hand theory in the Patriots backfield, Week 16 looks like a recipe for disaster for Blount owners.

WR Julian Edelman was limited in practice Wednesday with a concussion.

It's tough to tell what his status for Sunday will be considering the fact that he is dealing with a concussion. We should get some answers once he completes the NFL's concussion protocol.

Patriots sign TE Steve Maneri and QB Garrett Gilbert to the practice squad.

Both players are simply depth acquisitions as the Patriots had some open spots on their practice squad but neither are expected to see the active roster.

It appears New England Patriots defensive tackle Dominique Easley's season is over. The Patriots are placing their 2014 first-round draft pick on injured reserve.

Easley was the Patriots first round pick in this year's draft but was coming off a torn ACL which tempered his expectations. He played limited snaps this season mostly on passing downs but had appeared to re-injure his knee during practice a few weeks back which is likely the reason for his I.R. designation.

Dont’a Hightower registered eight tackles with 0.5 sacks in the Patriots 41-13 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.

Hightower returned to the Patriots lineup after missing last weeks contest and continued to make plays all over the field including helping out Chandler Jones on a sack of Ryan Tannehill which brings him to five sacks on the season. The Patriots have invested some early round draft picks on their defense over the past few seasons and it has begun to pay off as Chandler Jones, Jamie Collins and Dont'a Hightower have all become major contributors of their improved defense.

Patrick Chung registered 10 tackles with one interception in the Patriots 41-13 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.

Chung collected his first interception of the season on Sunday and registered his second double-digit tackle performance in the past three games. Chung has been a physical run stopper in his second stint with the team but still struggles against the pass which leads him to play primarily on early downs.

Chandler Jones registered seven tackles with 1.5 sacks in the Patriots 41-13 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.

Jones missed the Patriots last six games with a hip injury but returned and showed no signs of rust as he collected 1.5 sacks on Tannehill. Jones now has six sacks in eight games this season and his presence on the Patriots defensive line will be a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks given him impressive pass rushing skills.

Rob Gronkowski caught three passes for 96 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots 41-13 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.

Gronk had a relatively quiet day as he caught all three of his passes in the third quarter but those three catches did damage as they went for 34 yards, 27 yards and 35 yards. Gronk caught his touchdown pass on the first play following a Miami turnover which extended the Patriots lead to 31-13. The touchdown was his 11th of the season and 53rd of his five year career. In my eyes there is no better tight end in football than Rob Gronkowski and those who own him are likely enjoying the fantasy playoffs right now.
