Panthers have signed rookie RB Lache Seastrunk to the practice squad.

Given the frailty of the Panthers running backs, it can never hurt to have someone waiting in the wings. Seastrunk washed out with the Redskins this summer, but Carolina might be a better fit for him anyway.

DeAngelo Williams (thigh) is expected to practice Wednesday and be ready for Sunday night's game against the Steelers.

Good news for Williams' owners and good news for the Panthers who suffered through a day of plodding by Jonathan Stewart. They won the game but it certainly wasn't because of a strong, sustained ground attack. Williams adds a different dimension to the backfield which is much-needed for the Panthers.

NFL officials are in discussions about intervening in the Greg Hardy situation.

Hardy is currently dealing with some legal issues stemming from an offseason domestic violence case. He played in Week 1 but was deactivated by the Panthers in Week2. He has since been reinstated and there seems to be a question as to whether or not legal proceedings need to be finished before further action is taken against him. We'll see what the NFL does, but this is sure to be just as ugly a mess as all of these other instances are.

Kelvin Benjamin had his right knee taped, but appeared to be walking fine on Monday.

The Panthers got a scare when their stud first round wide receiver went limping to the sidelines during their win yesterday over the Lions. It looks like he just tweaked his knee and will be fine going forward, but this could of been catastrophic to Carolina.

Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said he isn't sure if DE Greg Hardy will play Sunday Night vs the Steelers.

The Panthers are seriously considering releasing troubled yet talented defensive lineman Greg Hardy. Coach Ron Rivera is holding his tongue on whether he'll play in Week 3 against the Steelers. It really seems like Rivera really does not know what the team is going to do with the guy at this point. Hardy was found guilty of domestic assault in July, and is currently appealing. It would be best to consider him highly doubtful for Sunday's game.

DeAngelo  Williams (hamstring) will work out Tuesday.

The Panthers continue to get by offensively with smoke and mirrors. They don't have any big name receiving targets besides their rookie Kelvin Benjamin who looks to be the real deal and a lame two headed monster at running back. The combination of Cam Newton, Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert ran for a grand total of 51 yards. They could use DeAngelo back in the lineup this week.

Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera announced that Greg Hardy will practice this week.

Hardy has been dealing with all of the legal issues that stem from his domestic violence charges from the offseason, but the Panthers expect him to be back in camp this week. Mario Addison did a fantastic job filling in, but will step aside for Hardy once again.

Dwan Edwards had six tackles (three solo) and was credited with 1.5 sacks against the Lions on Sunday.

Edwards, like the rest of the Panthers defensive line, had a nice, strong game. The pass rush was beyond effective and Edwards' 1.5 sacks were a big part of limiting the Lions passing attack. He now has sacks in back-to-back games.

Mario Addison recorded three tackles (two solo) and was credited with 2.5 sacks during Sunday's win over the Lions.

The Lions offensive line just couldn't fend off this Carolina defense and Addison, who was filling in for Greg Hardy, just kept coming at them all afternoon. Depending on what happens with Hardy's legal issues, Addison could be in for an increase in playing time.

Melvin White had three tackles (one solo) and one interception during the Panthers' 24-7 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Not just a solid day for White in coverage, but he was able to come up with a nice pick and ran it back 22 yards. It was his first interception on the year but he now has six tackles for the season.
