Nuggets PG Ty Lawson did not practice Wednesday and remains questionable for Friday's preseason finale at Golden State.

Lawson injured his hamstring during a preseason game Saturday and missed Tuesday's contest. It's very possible the Nuggets hold him out for the duration of the preseason as they don't want to take any unnecessary chances with his health so close to the start of the regular season.

Nuggets have officially released Marcus Williams and Jerrelle Benimon.

Williams was given a training-camp invite but there was no reasonable expectation that he would make the squad. The former second-round pick in the 2007 NBA draft will be looking for a new job elsewhere for guaranteed money.

Ty Lawson says he's TBD on the preseason finale at Golden State on Friday, but would like to play in order to keep up his conditioning.

Ty Lawson was one of the best players in all of fantasy last season having averaged 17.6 points, 8.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.2 3s per game. You can read more about Lawson and his fantasy projections for this season in The Fantasy Alarm NBA Draft Guide but you can rest assured Lawson will be one of the first point guards off the board.

Danilo Gallinari did not practice Monday due to a cold. He was checked out by team doctors and sent home. His status for Tuesday is to be determined.

While he is projected to be their starting small forward, there are many red flags with Gallinari. As mentioned in the Fantasy Alarm NBA Draft Guide, he is a 42% career shooter, and only really contributes in points and rebounds. He also is expected to be in a timeshare with Wilson Chandler and Aaron Afflalo.

JaVale McGee (tibia) might make his preseason debut on Tuesday.

McGee has been sideline through most of the preseason after experiencing soreness in the leg he had surgery on to repair a stress fracture. He's still somewhat of a question mark for Tuesday and his status for the start of the regular season remains up in the air.

Nuggets G Ty Lawson (hamstring) will not play Tuesday night vs Portland.

Having suffered the hamstring injury Saturday, the Nuggets want to take it easy on Lawson who just got over an ankle issue. They may even consider holding him out for the duration of the preseason, though they still believe the injury to be minor.

Ty Lawson left Saturday's game with hamstring tightness.

Lawson will be re-evaluated on Sunday but the Nuggets seem to think the injury is relatively minor. Unfortunately this is coming on the heels of an ankle injury and he lost time last year to a hamstring problem. Fantasy Alarm's Mark Kaplan ranks Lawson atop the third tier of point guards In the 2014 NBA Draft Guide and while he notes Lawson's expertise in the assists category, he also can't help but mention the injury risk.

JaVale McGee (leg) was held out of Thursday's preseason game.

McGee played just five games last season due to a season ending leg injury. McGee is an elite shot blocker and will be looked to provide solid inside presence for the Nuggets this season.

J.J. Hickson (knee) was held out of Thursday's preseason game.

Hickson averaged 11.8 points and 9.2 rebounds last season for the Nuggets but will likely come off the bench this season now that Javale McGee is healthy.

Danilo Gallinari (knee) was held out of Thursday's preseason game.

Gallinari has seen his fair share of injuries over his career which included missing all of the 2013/2014 season. He is a solid scoring threat off the wing and will be slotted as the Nuggets starting small forward when healthy.
