Nathan Eovaldi fell to 6-9 after he coughed up six runs on ten hits and a walk with four strikeouts over 3.1 innings in a loss to the Angels on Tuesday.

After a quick start to the season that had many -- including myself -- crying "BREAKOUT!" Eovaldi has morphed into one of league's best throwers of batting practice. Seriously, he's been battered around like tether ball, seemingly giving up crooked numbers in two out of every three outings. His peripherals suggest he's been unlucky, and the scouting report tells us he needs a more reliable secondary offering to take the next step. Don't give up yet, we have been a year too early.

Brad Hand will have his next start skipped.

Hand was solid in July, but that was clearly a mirage. The Marlins are being wise in skipping his next start, but he will likely have another start next week. His value is limited to NL-Only leagues.

Bryan Morris has been sent back to Miami to be examined for hip discomfort.

Since joining the Marlins, Morris has been excellent, posting a 0.48 ERA in 35 games. The Marlins are just three games out of a wild card spot and would have a glaring hole in their bullpen if Morris were to miss the remainder of the season.

Derek Dietrich reinstated from the 15-day disabled list, and optioned to Triple-A New Orleans.

Dietrich will be back up once rosters expand in September. For now, he can get some extra work in the minors and hopefully improve to the point where his addition to the big league roster will be one even fantasy owners will enjoy.

Christian Yelich went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in the Marlins 7-1 win over the Angels on Monday.

Yelich logged his seventh multi-hit performance over his last 10 games on Monday night, which marked the fourth time he recorded more that two hits over that stretch. He is now slashing .292/.372/.429 with nine home runs, 47 RBI, 76 runs scored and 16 steals, making him a great complementary piece down the stretch for those in deep league formats with his ability to contribute across the board.

Giancarlo Stanton went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in the Marlins 7-1 win over the Angels on Monday.

With Stanton's 33rd home run of the season on Monday, he has now reached 150 home runs for his career, which makes him the third youngest active player to reach that milestone at the age of 24 years and 290 days old. Only Albert Pujols (24 years, 212 days) and Alex Rodriguez (24 years, 255 days) reach the 150 home run club faster. This has been a great season for the Marlins slugger, who is now slashing .299/.407/.566 with 97 RBI to go along with his league-lead in long balls, as he make a serious run for NL MVP consideration.

Jarred Cosart allowed one earned run on seven hits while walking one and striking out four over 7.1 innings in the Marlins 7-1 win over the Angels on Monday.

Cosart has now allowed just two runs over his last three starts while improving to 2-1 with a 2.45 ERA and 0.98 WHIP since being dealt to the Marlins. Although he has very little strikeout upside (only 8 K over lat 18.1 IP), As long as he keeps pitching deep into games while limiting his base runner, Cosart makes for a decent back-end starter in all but the shallowest of league formats as we head into the stretch run. He will take on the Braves on Sunday in his next trip to the mound.
