Marlins added P Justin Nicolino and P Adam Conley to their 40-man roster.

A little roster adjustment for the Marlins with the Rule 5 draft coming up. Nicolino has some real nice potential, but he's probably going to have to hone his skills in Triple-A, at least to open the season.

Reid Brignac signed a minor league contract with the Marlins.

The Marlins continue to make moves in the off-season, and the signing of Brignac is the most recent one. There is a chance for Brignac to be an everyday player in the Miami middle infield, but he will gain that job through his defense, not his offense. He has a career .222 average across his first seven seasons.

Marlins are still trying to sign shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria and outfielder Christian Yelich to multiyear deals.

The Marlins are proving to Giancarlo Stanton that they are committed to trying to make this team into a contender. After dishing out a lumpsum of Stanton, Hechavarria and Yelich are important for the Marlins to sign. This will be a situation worth monitoring.

Marlins have finalized a 13-year, $325 million agreement with slugger Giancarlo Stanton.

It looks like we've got a done deal here. As speculated earlier, the contract does have a no-trade clause and also includes an opt-out after six years. It is the richest contract in sports history.

The Marlins and Giancarlo Stanton apparently have a 13-year, $325 million deal in place.

The deal has been discussed now for more than just a few days but it looks like the sides have finally agreed. The deal probably includes a no-trade clause and some sort of opt out as well. Expect the details to be released as soon as he signs on the dotted line.

Kenny Wilson signed a minor-league contract with the Marlins.

The Marlins just keep adding organizational depth as the young outfielder should have no impact on the major league level any time soon. Wilson is just a career .232 hitter in his six years in the minors.

Enquire Hernandez (abdomen) is expected to miss the remainder of the Winter League season.

The 23 year old showed flashes of potential in 2014 hitting .248 with 3 HRs and 14 RBI in limited time in the big leagues. He should be ready for the Marlins 2015 regular season.

Ryan Reid signed a minor league contract with the Marlins.

Not much to see here as the 29 year old Reid has an ERA around 4.00 in his long career as a minor leaguer.

The deal Giancarlo Stanton and the Marlins are discussing is reportedly in the range of 12 years for $320 million.

It was reported Thursday that the deal was going to be in the $300 million range and now we're seeing the breakdown here at a mammoth $26.67 million per year. Obviously, that kind of money to you and me is insanely ridiculous but given the annual salaries some of these baseball players are making, it's just par for the course. It would be a huge move for the "small market" Marlins but it would also help show that the Marlins are committing to their players and to their fans. Of course, this could all backfire and the team will find itself in dire need to trade him and rid themselves of the monetary commitment. Only time will tell.

Marlins and Giancarlo Stanton are discussing a record-breaking $300 million deal.

WHOA. The Marlins are known to be penny pinchers so the very thought that this could happen seems insane. With that said, in this current economic environment, Stanton is a player that is going to demand this type of money on the open market. He just turned 25 years old and already has 154 home runs to his name. It is safe to say that with his power and age, his best years are ahead of him. We'll see how this plays out, but a $300 million dollar contract handed out by the Miami Marlins seems like a dream at this point.
