Gustavo Ayon was not offered a qualifying offer by the Hawks before Monday's deadline, making him a free agent.

The Hawks already have depth at the PF/C positions and they barely played him last season.

USA Basketball has cut Hawks forward Paul Millsap from its national team roster.

With the gruesome Paul George, it could be a blessing in disguise to be dismissed from the team heading to the FIBA (???) World Cup.

Adeian Payne signed a multi-year rookie contract with the Hawks on Friday.

Payne was impressive enough in this year's Summer League to earn himself a multi-year contract, although it is unlikely he will have an immediate impact at the NBA level. The Hawks forward was a star at Michigan State before declaring for the NBA and has both the worth ethic and determination to succeed if given the opportunity this upcoming season.

Shelvin Mack has reached agreement on a three-year, $7.3M deal to return to Atlanta.

Mack was a restricted free agent, but he ultimately decided to return to the Hawks. He started 11 games for Atlanta last year, but mostly came off the bench. He will likely return to the same role he had last season.

Vegas Summer League Day 7: Hawks Adreian Payne scored a team-high 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field, including 3-of-5 from the long line in Thursday’s win over the Blazers.

This was a nice performance for Payne after he is been somewhat lackluster in prior Summer League games. He will look to fill a bench role for the Hawks this season.

Lou Williams said he "expected" offseason trade after exit interviews following season.

This is pretty much a moot point as the trade that sent WIlliams and Lucas Nogueira to the Raptors for John Salmons took place back in late June. The fact that we are now almost three weeks later and Williams is saying that he could see the writing on the wall back then is pointless. Hindsight is always 20/20, Lou. Let's just move on.

Atlanta Hawks guard Dennis Schroder is expected to get a lot of run next season behind starting point guard Jeff Teague.

Schroder did an adequate job last season when given the opportunity, but until we see how everything pans out it is hard to say just how much "run" he is going to receive. For now he should remain on the fantasy radar and could become a solid contributor if something was to happen to starter Jeff Teague.

Hawks and Thunder are working on a sign and trade for Thabo Sefolosha. Deal is expected to be finalized Tuesday.

The Hawks and Sefolosha have already agreed to a three year, $12 million deal. The Thunder are trying salvage any value they can from Sefolosha, which will likely be a second round pick and a trade exemption from the Hawks.
