Colts claimed guard A.Q. Shipley off waivers from the Ravens.

Shipley could possibly find a spot on the O-line for the Colts and could be quality depth on their line in a division full of quality pass rushers.

Colts S Delano Howell was released with a waived/injured designation Saturday.

The neck injury is serious enough that Howell won't be playing this year, but perhaps someone else wants to take the chance that it's not career-threatening. The Colts certainly don't want to.

Joe Reitz (ankle) will probably miss a couple of weeks.

Reitz is scheduled to be in a backup role, so this will certainly thin the Colts' offensive line depth headed into week one. We should have an update on his full status by the end of the weekend.

Head coach Chuck Pagano said rookie linebacker Andrew Jackson left the game with cramps.

Jackson has made a lasting impression this preseason and is slated to be the primary backup at middle linebacker for the Colts in 2014. Considering he went down with only cramps, he will be a go for Week 1, although it is going to take an injury or two before he gains true fantasy value.

Update: Joe Reitz had X-rays that showed a high ankle sprain.

The X-rays revealed that the Colts guard Joe Reitz has a high sprain to his left ankle. Those injuries can linger for what seems like forever. The time frame they are expecting right now is about a four to six week recovery.

Joe Reitz has ankle injury and his return is questionable.

Joe Reitz taken to locker room on cart. It looks to be a left ankle injury for the guard. This would be a big hit to the Colts depleted offensive line. He gives them some nice versatility.

Update: Reggie Wayne (knee) is a game-time decision Saturday, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

Well, at least a game-time decision is an improvement to saying that he won't play. Wayne continues to work his knee into game shape which will likely help his draft status this year. With no fanfare in the preseason, he'll be highly undervalued in drafts. While he's not going to post a vintage Wayne season, he's still going to be a huge part of the Colts passing attack and pay serious dividends to his owners. Keep quiet and let your league mates continue to dismiss him. He'll be the best 10th round pick you'll ever make.

Jack Mewhort did not participate in practice Thursday.

The second-round pick in the 2014 draft is dealing with a knee issue currently, though the Colts seem to be downplaying it. If it's nothing serious, then we're all good, but if it is something that could become problematic, that could do some damage to the interior part of the Colts offensive line. Consider him day-to-day and expect the team to update his condition daily.
