Kansas City Chiefs OT Eric Fisher (shoulder) fully participated in rookie practice Tuesday, July 22.

Encouraging news for Fisher, but he's only competing for a reserve job, not a starting position, so this has little effect on the fantasy world.

David Van Dyke (hamstring) was placed on the preseason physically unable to perform list.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (knee), WR Kyle Williams (knee), WR A.J. Jenkins (hamstring) and CB Christopher Owens (hamstring) participated in practice Monday, July 21.

If Travis Kelce is healthy, that will allow the Chiefs to play more two-tight end sets this season. The Chiefs do not have a strong wide receiver core and having two strong receiving tight ends like Fasano and Kelce will allow them to run so many different sets for the defense to plan and prepare for this season. He is a very interesting TE2 flier.

Chiefs place RB Joe McKnight (knee) the team's PUP list to open camp.

With both Jamaal Charles and Knile Davis ahead of him on the depth chart, McKnight's best bet would be to make a name for himself in special teams once healthy enough be on the active roster. There is no reason to track his progress through camp at this point, considering we are talking about a player that has just 502 yards and no rushing touchdowns to his name.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said RB Joe McKnight had his knee scoped during the break and is making progress in his recovery.

There are no guarantees that McKnight will make the Chiefs' final roster, but he has a decent shot to fill the third-string running back role. He can also contribute on special teams which makes him more valuable. He should be ready to go within a few weeks.

Aaron Murray says he is completely healthy. He says he hasn't thought about his knee injury in months.

Murray is working his way back from an ACL injury and will probably start the season as the Chiefs' third-string quarterback or on the practice squad.

Chiefs QB Alex Smith, who has one year left on his contract, wants to sign an extension and continue his career in Kansas City.

Smith lead the Chiefs to the playoffs in his first season at QB which saw him throw for 3,313 yards with 23 touchdowns against seven interceptions. Smith also showed his athleticism as he rushed for 431 yards and a touchdown.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been talking with LB Justin Houston about a contract extension but have not made him an offer at this point.

Houston has been excellent the past two season, recording double digit sacks in both campaigns. The Chiefs would be wise to lock him up soon as he should be a very important piece to their defensive for years to come.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Demetrius Harris looks like a player ready to contribute this season, according to head coach Andy Reid.

Harris was getting first-team reps earlier this summer, so he is continuing to produce at a high level and has impressed the Chiefs brass. He makes for an intriguing late round pick in dynasty leagues.

Chiefs cut defensive tackle Risean Broussard from injured reserve.

This release has no fantasy impact as Broussard was a player that couldn't make it past the practice squad.
