Chiefs sideline reporter Kendall Gammon told CBS Sports Radio on Saturday night that he does not expect Jamaal Charles to play at Miami on Sunday.

The CHiefs have been trying to allude that Charles could play Sunday, but given the fact that his sprain was of the high-ankle variety, common sense dictates that he's going to miss at least a week or two with the injury. The team is likely to keep you dangling until the last minute, but you should expect to be without Charles this week.

Chiefs CB Ron Parker is expected to start at safety in Week 3 in place of S Eric Berry.

Berry left last week's game with an ankle injury and was replaced by Parker. Since Berry will be unable to go this weekend, Parker will take his spot. Expect him to start at cornerback as long as Berry is out.

Jamaal Charles is listed as questionable for Sunday.

And there's the official designation. You can hope for a positive practice report from Saturday, but now it's strictly a waiting game. Have your cont9ingency plan in place though. Expect that he won't play and if he does, it's a nice bonus for you.

Jamaal Charles will be evaluated after practice on Friday before determining his status for Sunday's game.

Fantasy owners will just have to wait for an update from the team's practice Friday, but again, we urge you to have a strong contingency plan in place. It's a high-ankle sprain and that tends to keep people out for an extended period of time. The team says it's minor, but again, we'll just have to wait and see.

Eric Berry (ankle) is not practicing on Friday.

Berry missed practice Thursday as well with this high-ankle sprain and could miss this Sunday's game because of it. He'll likely be a game time decision. Kurt Coleman would likely fill in should Berry miss time.

De’Anthony Thomas (hamstring) is not practicing on Friday.

Thomas practiced on a limited basis Thursday, but missing Friday is not a good sign. Knile Davis and possibly Joe McKnight could be the lead backs this week for the Chiefs.

Jamaal Charles (ankle) was participating in warm-ups and position drills during Friday's portion of practice open to media.

There's a lot of hopeful talk coming out of the Kansas City media as Randy Covitz of the Kansas City Star sounds like a cheerleader on the sidelines. "If Jamaal Charles still has a high ankle sprain, I wish I had one, too, he looks pretty good to me." We'll have to wait and see what the Chiefs actually do this week, but you should make sure you have your contingency plan ready to go this Sunday. A beat writer trying to sell papers and give the fan base hope is not where you want to pin the hopes of your fantasy team.

Dwayne Bowe (quadriceps) was a full participant in practice Thursday.

Bowe returned last weekend from his one game suspension and will be on the field on Sunday when the Chiefs travel to Miami. He is an overrated talent, but will bless fantasy owners with a few big games this season.

De'Anthony Thomas (hamstring) was not participating in early part of Thursday's practice.

Thomas was expected to be at practice and coach Andy Reid has declared the running back healthy. Whether that's really tue or not is yet to be seen. With all eyes on Jamaal Charles' practice schedule, does Thomas even really matter? Not for fantasy purposes this week.

Jamaal Charles (ankle)  is practicing with Chiefs on Thursday.

This is a major news for Charles owners who suffered what was being described as a "minor" high ankle sprain last week. Coach Andy Reid expressed some optimism that Charles would be able to play in Week 3 and this development should hold some weight to his opinion. For now Charles is likely still considered questionable for Week 3 but the odds of him playing are higher now than they were prior to his participation in practice.
