Josh McCown (thumb) will see a hand specialist on Monday.

The Bucs fear that it's more than just a sprained thumb and are looking to see if an MRI and a second opinion reveal ligament damage. McCown is expected to miss a few weeks here already so this meeting with a specialist should offer a more concrete timetable for his return.

Josh McCown is undergoing a second test on injured thumb and is expected to miss several weeks.

That changes things from what we heard earlier tonight. Mike Glennon will step in as the starting QB for the time being. The Tampa Bay QB starter is not a fantasy option unless you are extremely desperate.

Josh McCown suffered a severe sprain in his right thumb but no break. He could play next Sunday.

Not sure that sounds so good for his fantasy owners, given how terrible the Bucs have been this season. Still time to turn things around, but it might be time to check the wire for a new QB.

Gerald McCoy has a splint on his left hand and says he's doing everything he can to play vs. Steelers next week.

McCoy was ruled out for Thursday's game because of the injury and he's going to need to show the Bucs something at practice next week if he's really going to suit up to face the Steelers. Keep an eye on his practice schedule.

Update: Josh McCown has an MRI Friday to figure out the damages to his thumb.

McCown came down and hit one of the Falcons defenders in the face mask with his hand on the follow-through of a pass and immediately winced in pain. It doesn't sound like there are any breaks or fractures, but the MRI will reveal any potential ligament damage. Depending on the outcome here, the Bucs could have all the excuse they need to swap out McCown for Mike Glennon.

Buccaneers coach Lovie Smith said it was too soon to know how long Josh McCown (thumb) might be out. He also said it was too soon to know if McCown's part in this loss would lead to a change at the position based on merit.

Jeez, folks. Give the guy a break. His team just got pasted 56-14 Thursday night and those 14 points were, pretty much, gifted to them at the end of the game. Cut him some slack here. McCown will have x-rays taken and possibly an MRI to determine the extent of the damage. Once we get that information, we'll have a better timetable. The injury could make the decision to replace McCown an easy one. Should he miss even just one week, a decent performance by Mike Glennon could allow Smith to say that he'll stick with the hot hand.

Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith said in his post-game press conference “Of course we have to make some changes. The direction we’re doing right now isn’t getting it done.’’

Smith did not mention Josh McCown by name, though benching McCown would seem like an obvious change. Smith may not have a choice as McCown reportedly left the game with a thumb injury.

Mark Barron registered seven tackles with a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in Buccaneers 56-14 loss to the Falcons.

Barron's seven tackles were second on the team for the night. He also forced a fumblle and recovered a fumble. While the Bucs defense will be better next weekend, they should not be played in your line up.

Danny Lansanah registered four tackles and added an interception that he returned for a touchdown in the Buccaneers 56-14 loss to the Falcons on Thursday.

Lansanah returned a Matt Ryan interception to the house accounting for six of the Bucs' 14 total points. Lansanah returned the pick 27 yards for his first touchdown of the year. Lansanah will look for another interception next week against Big Ben and the rest of the Steelers' offense.

Lavonte David totaled eight tackles and a fumble recovery in the Buccaneers 56-14 loss to the Falcons on Thursday.

David was an individual force for a defense that allowed 56 points. The Bucs' defense cannot possibly play as bad next week as they did tonight. They will face Pittsburgh next weekend.
