Vontaze Burfict (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game.

The Bengals will continue to be without their fearless linebacker on Sunday against the Texans in Houston. Burfict underwent knee surgery last month and has missed the last three games for Cincinnati. Coach Lewis said recently that Burfict has been progressing well but just wont be ready to go on Sunday.

Terence Newman (knee) is listed as probable for Sunday.

Newman returned to a limited practice Wednesday and has gradually increased his work load over the last two days of practice. He will be a member of the starting secondary Sunday and should give Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins so tough battles Sunday.

Bengals are listing RB Giovani Bernard (hip/clavicle) as probable to play at the Texans on Sunday. He did practice today.

Bewrnard has been able to practice steadily this week so it's no surprise that he's listed as probable. What is a concern is the carry distribution between him and Jeremy Hill. Bernard should be the primary back, but given the injury and how well Hill has performed lately, it's hard to imagine him not seeing a significant amount of work as well.

Head coach Marvin Lewis says TE Tyler Eifert (elbow) will return this year.

Earlier in the month, Lewis said that he was skeptical regarding Eifert's potential return this year. Perhaps there's been a little more progress in the last two weeks. Still, even if he does return, he's not going to be a useful fantasy option as you won't be able to trust him in the playoffs.

Vontaze Burfict (knee) did not practice Thursday.

Burfict hasn't played since Week 9 and his status for Sunday seems doubtful. He would have to show vast improvement overnight to even have a slight chance to play against the Texans.

Giovani Bernard (clavicle, hip) will be eased back into the lineup, OC Hue Jackson said Wednesday.

Obviously this makes sense given the nature of Bernard's injuries and the potential of re-aggravating them. Jackson hasn't discussed how he'll split the workload between the two running backs, but it will likely be close enough to an even split to hinder the value of each one this week. Assume a potential 50/50 split and monitor Bernard's health this week. Should he continue being limited in any way, then tilt the workload in favor of Hill.

Terence Newman (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday.

The Bengals will be facing a Houston offense that boasts some offensive talent. The secondary needs to be ready for Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins, therefore, the Bengals will need Newman on the field. He is questionable at the current time.

Cedric Peerman (knee) was limited at practice Wednesday.

Peerman has very low fantasy value being the change-of-pace back to Jeremy Hill, but he will lose all fantasy relevance upon the return of Giovani Bernard.

Vontaze Burfict will not practice on Wednesday.

Buirfict has missed the last three games after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery in late October and it looks like he's about to miss his fourth. Continue to monitor his condition, but without a full week's worth of practice, it seems doubtful that he'll be on the field Sunday.
