Byron Buxton Headshot

Twins recall Byron Buxton from Triple-A Rochester.

This shouldn't come as much of a surprise, seeing as rosters are expanding. Buxton has really struggled at the big league level throughout his young career, but there is no denying that if he can figure it out, he could be a fantasy goldmine. He's not worth much in redraft leagues, but he shouldn't be dumped in dynasty formats.

Andrew Cashner Headshot

Andrew Cashner (blister) threw a bullpen session Wednesday.

Cashner recorded a quality start in his last outing and the team is hoping that he can make his scheduled start on Friday against the Cleveland Indians. Well, all signs point to the notion that he will make that start. It's been a trying year for the right-hander, but perhaps he can get on a bit of a roll down the stretch. For now, leave him off your team, unless you're in a deep NL-only format.

Domingo Santana Headshot

Brewers manager Craig Counsell said OF Domingo Santana is healthy despite being out of the starting lineup for the third consecutive game.

Interesting. It could be matchup based, seeing as Milwaukee has been facing some hard-throwing righties of late, but given the play of some of the Brewers, perhaps Santana is best left on the bench. He's not useful in anything but the deepest of NL-only formats at this juncture.

Matt Adams Headshot

Matt Adams (left shoulder) could return to the lineup soon.

Adams was placed on the DL back on Aug. 11 but indications are that he would be able to return to the lineup soon. When he does return, he will offer adequate pop, but not much else unfortunately. He's best left in free agency for the time being.

Aaron Hicks Headshot

Aaron Hicks left Wednesday's game with an injury.

Hicks had been a little funk of late, but leaving tonight with an injury surely isn't helping anything. He was hitless through three at-bats before exiting the contest. Consider him day-to-day for the time being.

Fernando Salas Headshot

Fernando Salas has been traded to the Mets for Erik Manoah.

Salas' overall numbers are pretty bad, but his second half has been very good. His ERA since the All-Star break sits below 3.00 and he will be another reliable arm in the back-end of the New York pen. His fantasy value takes a hit because he won't be the team's closer, but as long as he pitches like he has been, he can still be reliable in terms of helping your ratios.

Kenny Bell Headshot

Update: Kenny Bell has been diagnosed with a concussion.

This is a tough break for Bell, seeing as he was competing for one of just a couple spots for pass catchers in Tampa Bay. Bell is out for the rest of the game and he will enter concussion protocol in the coming days. He said all he wanted was a break, but unfortunately, he didn't catch one.

Adam Jones Headshot

Orioles manager Buck Showalter expects Adam Jones to play Friday.

Jones hasn't played since August 26 but Buck expects his starting center fielder to play on Friday. The Orioles are being very cautious, and rightfully so, given their chance to make a little noise down the stretch. Jones is a must-start option when healthy, as seen by his .275 average, 24 home runs and 74 RBI.

Yoan Moncada Headshot

Red Sox announce that they are promoting Yoan Moncada on Friday.

It's about damn time! This guy has the makings of a fantasy phenom and we are finally going to get a look at the youngster at the big league level. In 105 games between Single-A and Double-A, Moncada hit .298 with 15 home runs and 45 stolen bases. He drew plenty of walks and his game should translate quite well to the big league level. Expect for him to get some time at third base, as well as other positions the rest of the way.
