|News||Johnny Manziel said at this point he's content to sit back, study Brian Hoyer and continue to get better.|
Well that's a nice attitude to have, Johnny. Good job. Understanding that the first year should be a learning experience is a nice way to start your career and a good sign of maturity, especially for a guy with a profile as high as his. It also helps when you look at your potential receiving corps and even with the impending return of Josh Gordon, it looks bleak. Johnny Football knows he'll get his opportunity. It doesn't have to be this year. Analyst: Howard Bender
|News||Patriots fear a worst-case scenario that could keep Chandler Jones out of the lineup for the rest of the regular season. Best case, Jones will be out six weeks from the point of the injury, but they were not optimistic about the short end of the timetable.|
I have been suggesting that Jones was a good IDP pick up, but he is now not so high on my list, obviously. He is the team sack leader with 4.5 this season, so that hurts the Pat's defense. I still like the New England defense this week, even without Jones. Analyst: Ivar G. Anderson
|News||Buccaneers have agreed to terms with Gerald McCoy on a new 7-year extension for close to $100 million.|
Not so sure that is a wise move, although long term deals in football are less burdensome on the team, except for the salary cap hit with the guaranteed money. The risk of injury and poor performance (see his 2014 stats-only two sacks and 17 combined tackles on the season over five games) make long term deals dicey for the team. Analyst: Ivar G. Anderson
|News||Update: Bengals are expecting to be without A.J. Green on Sunday. The issue is his ligament damage under his big toe. It's lingering, so they'll be careful.|
So basically, nothing new to report. We know the injury and we know that he's already been declared as 'out' for this week. He's going to be re-evaluated each week to see if/when he can resume playing but this is going to be a problem all season long. Unfortunately, fantasy owners will just have to plod through. |News||Shonn Greene was arrested on Friday night on a handful of charges. Greene was charged with a handicap parking violation, driving on a revoked/suspended license, reckless driving and resisting stop/halt/frisk.|
Oh, Shonn. What are we going to do with you. The most shocking part of this, given the current state of the NFL, is that there was no sign of drugs, a gun, or alcohol. This sounds more like he stopped off at the Quickie Mart to buy a Slushee, parked in the handicap spot, got caught and was pulled over as he raced away. There will likely be more details involved, but, in truth, this sounds minor. Maybe that's the sad commentary on the NFL; that something like this is a throw-away in comparison. No word on whether or not this will affect Greene's status for Sunday's game against the Texans.
