J.T. Realmuto Headshot

J.T. Realmuto is not in the Marlins lineup on Tuesday.

Realmuto will get another day off on Tuesday, his third in 12 games. He doesn't have an RBI in the nine games since the All-Star break and is hitting .237 in that span. Jeff Mathis will get the start and bat seventh on Tuesday for Miami against Philadelphia.

Marcell Ozuna Headshot

Marcell Ozuna is not in the Marlins lineup on Tuesday

Ozuna is getting an off day on Tuesday as the Marlins play the Phillies in the second game of the series. Ozuna has already played 95 of 99 games this season for the Fish. Ichiro will get the start in center field as he tries to get closer to the magical 3,000 hits mark for his MLB career.

Ryan Zimmerman Headshot

Nationals activated Ryan Zimmerman from the disabled list.

Zimmerman has been out since the early part of this month with a rib cage strain but completed his three game rehab stint without any issues. He was just starting to find his bat when he went on the DL but his average still remains in the .220s. The Nats could use a boost to the offense as they gear up for the stretch run and if Zimmerman can find his bat, it could be just what they need.

Whit Merrifield Headshot

Royals optioned Whit Merrifield to Triple-A Omaha.

A hot start and a slump describe Merrifield's season so far in the bigs. He got off to a hot enough start that the Royals released Omar Infante but now he has managed just a .170 AVG and 17 strikeouts in the last month of games. He will try and find his grove again in Omaha whilst Raul Mondesi comes up to take his place on the 25-man squad.

Raul Mondesi Headshot

Royals recalled Raul Mondesi from Triple-A Omaha.

The 21-year-old top prospect for the Royals has been on some kind of tear at Triple-A in the last 10 games. In that span for the Storm Chasers he has hit .359 with eight runs, eight RBI, and five steals. He will take the place of Whit Merrifield who has been struggling mightily for the better part of a month. He missed the first 50 games of this season for a PED suspension after making his MLB debut in the World Series last year. He is a speedster but won't do much in the RBI or power departments.

Randy Gregory Headshot

Randy Gregory has checked into a rehab facility as he faces a longer ban this season.

The hits just keep on coming for the Cowboys defense and the season hasn't even started yet. Gregory reportedly violated the substance abuse policy again and could be looking at this as a way to sway the commissioner on the ultimate decision of how long he should be suspended for. He was going to be able to practice with the team during training camp before sitting out the first four games of the regular season, but clearly that plan won't be happening now and it's unclear as to when exactly he will be seen on a football field in 2016.

Hunter Harvey Headshot

Hunter Harvey had Tommy John surgery Wednesday. The surgery went well according to a source.

It was known that he was going to have the procedure done and in fact the Orioles have already said they expect him to return in 12-18 months from the surgery. Harvey hasn't seen much of the mound since being taken with the 22nd overall pick in June of 2013, with just 30 total appearances under his belt. He was at low-A Aberdeen this season and should return there once healthy enough to pitch again. At this point, being 21 already, the light associated with him as a prospect is dimming quickly, seeing as he won't likely pitch again until he's 23 and will be at low-A once again.

Stephen Vogt Headshot

Athletics reinstate catcher Stephen Vogt from the family medical leave list.

He missed the weekend with the A's after being placed on the list on Saturday to deal with a family issue but is now set to rejoin Oakland as the play the second game of the Texas series. Matt McBride had been holding his roster spot warm but will now head back to Triple-A Nashville to clear the spot for Vogt.

Anquan Boldin Headshot

Lions are signing veteran WR Anquan Boldin to a one-year deal.

Boldin is finally joining the team he visited with back in June as the Lions look to add depth to the receiving core after the retirement of Calvin Johnson earlier in the offseason. Boldin didn't have a great year in San Fran last season, but then again they were a dumpster fire and had a group of no name guys chucking the ball down field. He has familiarity with the coaching staff under Jim Caldwell and should see a solid amount of targets thrown his way despite his advancing age and already long-in-the-tooth 13-year NFL career.

Dean Kiekhefer Headshot

Cardinals recall LHP Dean Kiekhefer from Triple-A Memphis.

Kiekhefer is coming up to take Trevor Rosenthal's roster spot as he was placed on the 15-day DL earlier on Tuesday. His 5.73 ERA in 11 innings at the big league level this year slots him in a mop up duty role in the Cardinals pen.
