Phillips is one of just a few Reds players who have been fairly consistent this season. He’s only hitting .248 for the season, but with six home runs and three stolen bases, he’s showcasing that he can still reach double digits in both category. He and the rest of the Reds will get the day off tomorrow to clear the air.
It was a great night at the dish for Morrison, and it came just when he needed it most, as his sub .200 average was beginning to wear on him as of Monday afternoon. And just in the blink of an eye, Morrison raised his average 42 points with a two-day stretch of 6-for-7 at the plate. He obviously wont maintain this unrealistic pace, however hopefully this is a sign that his bat has turned around. Give him a few more games before making a judgement.
