DJ LeMahieu has a knee contusion.

When fantasy owners of D.J. LeMahieu read about him leaving the Rockies game on Sunday, they had to be nervous. But it appears the news regarding his knee injury is positive as it is listed as a contusion. It may cost LeMahieu a game or two but once the swelling subsides he should return to the field.

Rockies will examine SS Trevor Story. There hoping he doesn't have a broken hand.

Not long after launching his 19th home run in the first half, Trevor Story was hit on the hand by reliever Silvino Bracho of Arizona. Story stayed in the game but will undergo further testing on his hand to determine the severity of his injury. Both the Rockies manager and fantasy owners will nervously await the outcome. More details will follow as the news continues to emerge regarding Story.

Nathan Eovaldi worked six innings in Sunday’s 7-1 loss to the Twins, giving up five runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four.

It appeared as if Eovaldi was finally bouncing back from some recent struggles in the early frames of Sunday’s game, as the rocket-armed righty allowed just one run on two hits and two walks over the first five innings. However, things got totally away from him in the sixth, as the Twins put up a four spot courtesy of back-to-back-to-back home runs. Eovaldi would love to simply forget about the month of June, in which he posted an ugly 8.65 ERA across five starts. He may be able to do just that with a positive performance in San Diego on Friday.

Mark Teixeira went 1-for-3 with a solo homer in Sunday’s 7-1 loss to the Twins.

Teixeira solely accounted for the Yankees’ offensive production Sunday afternoon, as his eighth inning solo shot was one of just two hits and plated the only run for the Pinstripers. More importantly, the home run was a great sign for Teixeira, who returned from a three-week DL stint on Saturday and has had a dreadful season with the bat so far. The veteran slugger has dealt with one injury after another over the last few years. However, he did post a .906 OPS with 31 homers across 111 games just last year, so do not simply forget about him in fantasy leagues.

Trevor Plouffe went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Sunday’s 7-1 win over the Yankees.

After being out of action the past two days, Plouffe (groin) got back in the lineup Sunday and delivered his sixth roundtripper of the season during a string of three straight homers for the Twins in the sixth inning. Plouffe, who averaged 18 home runs and 29 doubles over the past four seasons, has dealt with a couple of nagging injuries already this year, which has limited him to playing in just 54 of the Twins’ 75 games thus far and negatively impacted on his all-around production. If the 30 year old can stay healthy going forward, he could be a solid A.L. Only option with some upside in deeper mixed leagues.

Brian Dozier went 2-for-4 with a two run homer in Sunday’s 7-1 win over the Yankees.

Dozier is really rolling right now. The All-Star second baseman has homered in each of the last two days and hit safely in nine straight overall. During that streak, he has gone 15-for-37 with three homers, three doubles, two triples, seven RBI and eight runs scored. Dozier largely struggled over the first two months of the season, but he has completely righted the ship with a strong June.

Eduardo Nunez went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in Sunday’s 7-1 win over the Yankees.

Nunez was due for some serious regression following the torrid pace he set throughout May and early-June, and that is exactly what has happened over the past few weeks. Over his last 17 games prior to Sunday’s, the speedy leadoff man posted a .235/.278/.235 slash line with no extra-base hits, four RBI, five runs and five steals. Maybe Sunday’s solo shot, his 10th of the year, can get him going again.

Brock Holt went 3-for-4 with a walk Sunday in his rehab game for Triple-A Pawtucket.

Left field has been a whirlwind of transactions as seven Red Sox players have started at the position. Brock Holt has been sidelined since May 7th with a concussion but is nearing a return. It remains to be seen if he will man left field full time or be a super sub providing players with rest. Holt had three hits on Sunday during his Triole-A game and is nearing s return shortly.

Tyler Duffey tossed eight excellent innings in Sunday’s 7-1 win over the Yankees, giving up one run on just two hits to go with no walks and eight strikeouts.

Duffey had been struggling mightily over his previous seven starts (9.17 ERA), but he delivered an ace-caliber performance at Yankee Stadium on Sunday. The 25-year-old righty retired the first 17 batters he faced and surrendered his only run via a Mark Teixeira homer to lead off the bottom of the eighth inning. Duffey likely earned himself at least one more turn in the Twins’ rotation with this effort, and if so, it will likely come Saturday in a tough matchup against the Rangers.
