Joyce isn't an everyday player and the Pirates normal outfield of Marte, McCutchen and Polanco will commandeer the three outfield positions. Joyce has played well for the Pirates, but he's not going to get playing time over the other three aforementioned guys.
With Anibal Sanchez on the mound, the Rays elect to start Brandon Guyer in left field over Jennings. Although it's a small sample size, Guyer has one hit in two at-bats against Sanchez.
There's no way around it, Devin Mesoraco has been awful this year. He's hitting just .140 with one lonely RBI and zero homers. Tucker Barnhart will draw the start Friday and could continue playing over Mesoraco until he shows the Reds something.
It's been one week from today since Cespedes' last start thanks to his leg injury. The one time we did see Cespedes while he was injured he just so happened to blast a pinch-hit three-run home run to help the Mets pick up a win.
Bruce took some personal time away from the team to become a father but is back in the Reds lineup on Friday. Bruce got off to a big start to the 2016 season but has severely slowed down. Don't trust Bruce in DFS right now.
Alvarez has been awful for the Orioles this year and won't start on Friday. Mark Trumbo is making his first start at first base in 2016. Alvarez was supposed to be a big acquisition for the Orioles and provide their lineup with serious pop but he still hasn't hit a home run in 15 games.
After missing a few games, Cespedes is on the field early taking batting practice. He's returning to action for Friday's game now that his leg has fully healed.
Prior to the 2014 season, Escobar was Baseball America's 56th rated prospect. He hasn't quite panned out, but the Diamondbacks could be getting a diamond in the rough. Sometimes all it takes is a change of scenery.
Phillips was hit in the hand on Monday and missed the following two games because of it. His hand has healed and he'll bat fourth in Friday's game. Phillips has gotten off to a fast start in 2016, hitting .308 with seven extra-base hits in 18 games this season. The three stolen bases is also a plus for fantasy purposes.
Bedrosian has already been seen in the bigs this year, recording two innings. He's been extremely inconsistent throughout his career. He posted an extremely impressive 1.11 ERA in Double-A during the 2014 season but in the same calendar year struggled mightily in Triple-A with an ERA north of 7.00.
