William Nylander Headshot

Nylander leads the Maple Leafs and all NHL rookies with 19 power-play points and the entire league in power-play points-per 60 minutes (8.69).

Nylander operates on the right side of the top unit, while Auston Matthews rules the hash marks on the left. Nylander has crazy elite skills with the puck and the puck comes off his stick as quick as some of the best. He's approaching the Toronto rookie franchise mark for power-play points (25) and is within one goal of equalling the team's rookie goal mark.

Cam Talbot Headshot

Talbot saved 31 of 34 shots during Wednesday's win over Florida.

Talbot entered Wednesday's contest with a high-end 31-16-7 record, .921 save percentage, 2.35 GAA and five shutouts. He's contributing rock-solid No. 1 goalie numbers in all seasonal settings, and he's also morphing into a consistent and reliable option in daily contests when Edmonton faces a favorable matchup. His hefty workload also mitigates the odd rough outing. Just note that Edmonton is in tough with an upcoming three-game road trip through Washington, Nashville and St. Louis.
11:50 pm (EST)
Leon Draisaitl Headshot

Draisaitl assisted on the game-winning goal and logged 21:16 of ice time against Florida on Wednesday.

While he's still posted two goals and six points through his past nine games, Draisaitl has also missed the scoresheet entirely in five of the outings. The 21-year-old pivot returned to Connor McDavid's flank for Wednesday's game, and with Edmonton squeaking out the win, expect the duo to remain together. Continue to view Draisaitl as a high-end fantasy option, and his value skyrockets in daily contests while skating with McDavid.
11:45 pm (EST)
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins Headshot

Nugent-Hopkins scored a goal and registered three shots on net during Wednesday's win over Florida.

While it's a relatively mild offensive outbreak (two goals and two helpers through four games), it still represents one Nugent-Hopkins' better runs this season. The 23-year-old pivot cannot find any traction in the points column, and his 8.2 shooting percentage is well below the 11.6 mark he posted over the previous three campaigns. It isn't out of the question to count on Nugent-Hopkins to continue providing more offense through the end of the year, but it's also worth noting that he's clearly the No. 2 center in all situations behind Connor McDavid. A speculative grab could pay off, but you'll also want to have a short leash with RNH.
11:41 pm (EST)
Oscar Klefbom Headshot

Klefbom scored a first-period goal and registered five shots on net through 26:32 of ice time during Wednesday's win over Florida.

The emerging Swede now has four goals, 10 points and 35 shots through his past 13 games, and he's climbed the depth chart to quarterback the No. 1 power-play unit. Additionally, and further boosting his fantasy value, Klefbom's most frequent forward linemate is Connor McDavid. The 23-year-old defenseman is a must-own asset in all seasonal leagues with significant upside, and he's currently presenting excellent value in daily contests.
11:29 pm (EST)
Kris Russell Headshot

Russell scored the game-winning goal against Florida on Wednesday.

After missing five games with an undisclosed injury, Russell returned to the lineup Tuesday and had a minimal impact. His third-period tally was the difference Wednesday, though, and it was actually the 29-year-old rearguard's first goal of the season. Russell hasn't moved the needle offensively this season, but fantasy owners can still count on his willingness to block shots -- he averages 3.0 per game.
11:25 pm (EST)
Jason Demers Headshot

Demers logged just 16:47 of ice time and failed to register a point for the seventh consecutive game during Wednesday's loss to Edmonton.

Further concerning is Demers has just six shots, three blocked shots and 14 hits during the pointless stretch. He's a solid real-world defenseman, but his mediocre offensive and peripheral statistics don't move the needle in most seasonal leagues. Demers should be left to deep leagues, and his current owners will want to monitor his ice time over the next few games.
11:21 pm (EST)
James Reimer Headshot

Reimer saved 31 of 34 shots during Wednesday's loss to Edmonton.

The Oilers were run out of the rink 4-1 by Tampa Bay on Tuesday, and Florida had won five consecutive games, so this had the makings of a tough spot for the Panthers and Reimer. The veteran goalie had won five of his past six starts with a .948 save percentage and 1.44 GAA, so he deserve a bit of a pass for Wednesday's underwhelming performance. However, it's likely Roberto Luongo draws the start against Calgary on Friday.
11:14 pm (EST)
Keith Yandle Headshot

Yandle registered two assists over 22:59 of ice time during Wednesday's loss to Edmonton.

Quietly, Yandle is having another solid campaign and is now up to 31 points through 59 games this season. Over the past four years, his 1.59 points per 60 minutes rank seventh among all defensemen with at least 6,000 minutes, and his 5.04 mark with the man advantage paces all rearguards with 1,000 minutes during the same time frame. Now that the Panthers are finally healthy, Yandle has the upside to close the season strong, and he's likely undervalued in plenty of fantasy circles. He's also currently presenting excellent value in daily contests.
11:07 pm (EST)
Jussi Jokinen Headshot

Jokinen collected two assists -- one with the man advantage -- during Wednesday's loss to Edmonton.

With five goals and 10 points through his past 10 games, Jokinen has picked up his offensive production considerably. The hot stretch aligns with Florida dressing a healthy lineup, and considering the veteran's respectable numbers over the previous three seasons, a strong finish to 2016-17 is likely ahead. Keep expectations in check for his goal and shot totals, but he's a capable power-play producer who can pad the assists column. Jokinen is still a ripe value in daily contests and a worthwhile grab in the majority of seasonal settings.
