Tony Wolters (L) Headshot

Wolters is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Cardinals, Thomas Harding of reports.

Wolters has just two hits over the past 14 games, so he'll hit the bench for the second consecutive game. Ryan Hanigan will pick up another start behind the plate in his place.

Carlos Gómez (R) Headshot

Gomez is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Marlins.

Gomez will take a seat for the first time during the second half of the season after starting the past 12 games in center field. In his place, Drew Robinson takes over the outfield spot while batting ninth in the order.

Bud Norris (R) Headshot

Norris was charged with four runs while failing to record an out in Tuesday's 11-7 loss to the Indians.

The converted closer was brought into the game in the 11th inning to preserve a tied game, but he walked three batters before surrendering a walk-off grand slam to Edwin Encarnacion. This was easily Norris' worst outing of the season, ballooning his ERA to 3.12 over 40.1 innings. The 32-year-old is still 15-for-17 on save opportunities this season, and he should remain the Halos' closer so long as he rebounds from Tuesday's ugly showing.

Matt Garza (R) Headshot

Garza was placed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday with a right lower leg strain.

No word has come forth as to when the injury was sustained, although apparently it was enough to warrant a trip to the DL. The severity of the ailment is also unknown, so a timetable for his return is unclear at this point. Garza was originally scheduled to start Thursday's series finale in Washington, so the Brewers will need to find a replacement for that. Brent Suter and Wily Peralta seem like possible options for the Brewers to deploy for a spot start.
4:32 pm (EST)
George Springer (R) Headshot

Springer (quadriceps) is out of the lineup Wednesday against Philadelphia, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Springer will be available off the bench for Wednesday's series finale, but manager A.J. Hinch decided to give the outfielder another day off after he exited Monday's contest with left quad discomfort. It was expected that Springer would be held out of the lineup Wednesday, especially with the team receiving a scheduled off day Thursday. In his place, Derek Fisher draws the start in center field while batting second against the Phillies.

Brooks Pounders (R) Headshot

The Angels recalled Pounders from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

It's the fifth promotion of the season for Pounders, who didn't make much of an impression over his previous nine appearances with the big club, accruing a 6.52 ERA in 9.2 innings. The Angels' main incentive for calling Pounders up was to get a fresh arm in the bullpen after the team needed six relievers to cover 7.2 innings in Tuesday's loss to the Indians. Pounders could be asked to cover multiple frames Wednesday if the Angels' starter, Ricky Nolasco, fails to work deep into the contest.
4:25 pm (EST)
Lewis Brinson (R) Headshot

Brinson was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Wednesday.

The top prospect will return to the majors to add outfield depth. With the Brewers in line to face left-handers Wednesday and Friday, Brinson seems to be in line for a good amount of playing time while he's up. For Wednesday's contest, he'll slot into the order in the seven-hole, patrolling center field. Matt Garza (lower leg) was placed on the disabled list to make room on the roster for him.
