Kendrys Morales has a sprained right middle finger. He's day to day.

Morales should be able to return to the lineup in the three or four days. It'll be interesting to see who the Royals use at designated hitter for the time being, but Brett Eibner was originally going to DH tonight before the game got rained out. Morales could certainly use some time off as he has struggled mightily this year, hitting just .187 with five home runs and 18 runs batted in.

Brandin Cooks sat out of practice Thursday.

Cooks sat out of practice with an undisclosed ailment. Saints head coach Sean Payton refused to shed any light on the injury due to the fact that teams aren't required to disclose injury information at this point in the year. Yankees released former top prospect Slade Heathcott.

After going on the 7-Day disabled list on May 11th due to an undisclosed issue, Heathcott has now been released by the Yankees. He was chosen in the first round by the Yankees back in 2009, but only ended up playing in 17 big league games in 2015.

Dodgers are confident Alex Wood will make his start on Monday.

Wood was scratched from his scheduled start tomorrow due to tricep tightness, but it's a good sign that the Dodgers are confident that he will be ready to go after a few days of rest. Wood has been fantastic in his last three starts, striking out 27 batters and allowing only only four earned runs in 18.1 innings. Next up for Wood will be the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley, barring any setbacks.

Nick Hundley (oblique) hit in a batting cage Wednesday and could go on a rehab assignment next week.

Hundley said that he had a very good day hitting in the cages, and it appears as though he will be taking batting practice for the next couple of days before being re-evaluated when the Rockies return home on Friday. Hundley has been on the disabled list since May 6th due to his oblique, but he's progressing well and should be able to go on a rehab assignment sometime next week barring any setbacks. The Rockies catcher was hitting .273 and OPSing .930 in 54 plate appearances before his injury.

Zach Lee starts for Triple-A Oklahoma City Thursday night in Fresno, in place of Julio Urias.

With Urias making his major league debut on Friday against the Mets, Zach Lee will take his turn in the rotation for the Triple-A club. Lee is 6-1 this year in eight starts for Oklahoma City, posting a 4.21 ERA and a 6.7 SO/9. With the Dodgers having so much young pitching talent, Lee is going to have to wait some time for his chance to come for the big league team.

Danny Duffy will get the start Friday for the Royals.

Originally scheduled to pitch tonight, Duffy's start is being pushed back a day due to the rain out. The Royals left-hander has been solid this year, with a 2.13 ERA in 25.1 innings pitched.

Miguel Gonzalez will have his start pushed back to Friday.

After tonight's game was rained out, Gonzalez will pitch for the White Sox tomorrow night. He was originally supposed to take the mound for tonight's game, but mother nature put the kibosh on that. Gonzalez's last start came against the Royals, the same team he will face tomorrow, where he went six innings and allowed two earned runs.
