Michael McCarron Headshot

McCarron was called up to the NHL on Sunday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

McCarron appeared in 32 games last season with Montreal including one playoff game, but only managed five points in the stretch. While it's unsure how long the Michigan native will remain in the NHL, with Jeremiah Addison (shoulder) and Ales Hemsky (upper body) on the injured reserve McCarron should receive some ice time until they return.

Michael Thomas Headshot

Thomas brought in seven of 11 targets for 82 yards in Sunday's 26-17 win over the Packers.

Thomas drew even with Ted Ginn, Jr. for the team lead in receptions on the afternoon while also pacing the club in targets. The second-year wideout continues to garner plenty of attention from quarterback Drew Brees, as he's seen 11 targets in two of the past three games. While he's yet to log a 100-yard effort, the 24-year-old is clearly the Saints' No. 1 receiver and has the frame to serve as a consistent red-zone threat. He'll look to put together another strong performance when the Saints take on the Bears in a Week 8 home tilt.
10:13 pm (EST)
Jonnu Smith Headshot

Smith caught two of four targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 12-9 overtime win at Cleveland.

Smith wasn't a major contributor here, but he could be in for an expanded role in the coming weeks. Top tight end Delanie Walker exited this one with a sprained ankle and Smith would inherit a lot of extra snaps should Walker sit. Tennessee's on bye next week, but Smith would be a solid streamer afterwards if Walker still isn't healthy.

Tyler Kroft Headshot

Kroft secured all four of his targets for 28 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 29-14 loss to the Steelers.

Operating as the starter in place of the injured Tyler Eifert (back), Kroft wasn't targeted often down the field. However, he was a reliable short-range outlet, which proved handy on a day QB Andy Dalton often had little time to throw. The 2015 third-rounder has now seen at least four targets per week in his new role while averaging 4.3 receptions and 39.3 yards in those games. Together with the fact he's scored three times in that same span, Kroft is looking to be a relatively high-floor fantasy option, albeit one without a ton of upside.
10:09 pm (EST)
Ted Ginn Headshot

Ginn brought in all seven of his targets for 141 yards and logged one punt return for seven yards in Sunday's 26-17 win over the Packers.

With Willie Snead (hamstring) sitting, Ginn played the role of downfield threat he's proven highly capable of in the past, establishing season bests in receptions and receiving yards in the process. The 32-year-old also notched a season-long 47-yard catch and has gotten his Saints tenure off to a strong start overall, producing a 22-353-2 line over his first six contests. He could be in for another expanded role in Week 8 versus the Bears if Snead is unable to suit up.
10:08 pm (EST)
Nikita Scherbak Headshot

Scherbak was recalled from AHL Laval on Sunday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

After streaking out of the AHL gates notching nine points in his first six games, it certainly didn't take long for the 21-year-old to get called up to the show. Scherbak has a wicked wrist shot and lots of offensive potential, but it's unlikely he receives more than a bottom-six role from Montreal.
10:06 pm (EST)
Alvin Kamara Headshot

Kamara rushed nine times for 57 yards and secured five of seven targets for 50 yards in Sunday's 26-17 win over the Packers.

The rookie was once again effective in a complementary role, and he's now logged 19 carries for 132 yards along with eight receptions for 62 yards over the last two games. That boost in production has coincided with Adrian Peterson's exit from New Orleans, as the presence of one less mouth to feed in the backfield appears to have freed up head coach Sean Payton to give Kamara a more consistent workload. The 22-year-old's game-breaking speed and role in a prolific offense afford him an abundance of fantasy upside, potential that he'll look to deliver on in a Week 8 home matchup against the Bears.
10:02 pm (EST)
Bogdan Bogdanovic Headshot

Bogdanovic (ankle) is probable for Monday's game against the Suns, Jason Jones of The Sacramento Bee reports.

It looks like the rookie is set to make his NBA debut Monday night after missing the first three games of the season with a sprained ankle. He's expected to compete with both Vince Carter and Garrett Temple for minutes on the wing this season.
10:01 pm (EST)
Philip Rivers Headshot

Rivers completed 15 of 26 pass attempts for 183 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 21-0 win over the Broncos.

Rivers struggled to connect on many big plays and had a lackluster stat line toward the end of the game, though a 42-yard touchdown strike to Travis Benjamin improved the optics. Though his yardage total was suppressed, the veteran continued a strong run that's seen him throw eight touchdowns compared to just one interception during the last four games. Rivers' play has been crucial to his team's bounce back after a poor start to the season, and he'll look to keep it going in a favorable matchup against the Patriots in Week 8.
9:58 pm (EST)
A.J. Green Headshot

Green caught three of six targets for 41 yards during Sunday's 29-14 loss to the Steelers.

The entire Bengals offense was hampered by an inefficient offensive line that prevented QB Andy Dalton from consistently finding time to connect with his receivers downfield. When the Steelers became even more aggressive with their pass rush in the second half, things only got worse for Cincinnati. Green was no exception to these offensive woes. In fact, the Georgia product was held catchless for the entire second half despite his team playing in catch-up mode almost the entire time. However, this was a tough matchup all things considered, so fantasy owners shouldn't hesitate inserting Green into their lineups in Week 8 when the receiver is gifted a matchup with a Colts secondary that allowed 8.5 yards per attempt through Week 7, which is second-worst in the league.
