Jonathan Quick Headshot

Quick (groin) could be working towards a simulated game soon after his most intense practice to date Monday, LA Kings Insider reports.

Quick's next steps towards a return center around his ability to occupy one of the nets by himself in a practice and then working his way towards a simulated game environment. The Kings remain hopeful that he'll be able to return by the the middle of March as they battle for a playoff spot down the stretch.

Vladislav Namestnikov Headshot

Namestnikov scored a first-period goal against the Avalanche on Sunday.

This was Namestnikov's first goal in the past 10 games, and he has only added two assists in that time. This production isn't drastically low for the Russian forward, but it's also not ideal for fantasy owners. He's getting the chances, though, with 40 shots on goal in 20 games since the calendar flipped to 2017. The 24-year-old's position on the power play should also keep these opportunities coming, but until he can start capitalizing, his fantasy value will remain stagnant.

Erik Johnson Headshot

Johnson took part in practice Monday for the first time since breaking his leg on Dec. 3, the Denver Post reports.

Unfortunately, fellow Avs blueliner Nikita Zadorov broke his ankle today during the same practice and is done for the year, which pretty much sums up how bad Colorado's luck has been this season. Johnson donned a red no-contact sweater but otherwise took drills at full speed, so there's a chance he could return later in the week -- potentially at Nashville on Thursday or at home Saturday versus the Sabres.

Jannik Hansen Headshot

Hansen scored a goal Sunday in a 3-2 loss to Philadelphia.

This is Hansen's first goal in nine games since being activated from injured reserve, but he has added three assists over this stretch. Having only played in 27 games this year, the 30-year-old forward only has six goals and seven assists -- about average for him. Hansen isn't going to be a fantasy savior, but he's still getting his opportunities, averaging 2.6 shots on goal over the nine games since his return.

Ryan Hartman Headshot

Hartman scored one goal Sunday in a 5-1 win over Buffalo.

The 22-year-old winger now has four goals in seven February contests. Hartman has added 21 shots on goal during these games, while averaging 10:02 of ice time per game. While this stretch has been remarkable, this is still Hartman's first season playing consistently in the NHL. Without heightened playing time, it will be difficult to continue this pace for very long.

Kevin Fiala Headshot

Fiala scored Sunday in a 4-3 win against Columbus.

The former first-round pick found the back of the net Sunday in his first game since being recalled from the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals. The Swiss forward clocked 13:09 on the ice and fired two shots during that time. Fiala now has seven goals and three assists in his 33 games in the NHL this year, and he added 75 shots over these contests, which could be a good sign for future fantasy production.

Jimmy Howard Headshot

Howard (knee) participated in an optional practice in Detroit on Monday and is progressing toward a return.

The American netminder has missed 26 games and counting due to the injury suffered back on Dec. 20 against the Lightning. He reportedly took part in full practice drills during Monday's session and displayed full, unhindered mobility in the crease, something that bodes well in terms of returning to game action. With the Wings currently sitting seven points back of a playoff spot and owning a conference-worst team GAA of 2.97, the team could surely use Howard sooner rather than later -- especially since he was having the best season of his career (.934 save percentage, 1.96 GAA in 17 games) before being sidelined.

Tom Kuhnhackl Headshot

Kuhnhackl put the Penguins on the scoreboard Sunday in a 5-2 loss against Detroit.

The German winger has been battling a lower-body injury all year, but he is finally finding consistent time in the lineup. Sunday's shorthanded goal was Kuhnhackl's first tally since Dec. 8 when he scored against the Panthers. His fantasy value has been minimal over seven February games, though, firing a total of five shots on goal and averaging 11:12 minutes of ice time. It's really hard to justify starting a right wing whose best stats are in the defensive zone -- 58 hits and 23 blocked shots over 33 games.

Mathieu Perreault Headshot

Perreault scored a first-period goal against Ottawa on Sunday.

This season has been slightly less productive than usual for the 29-year-old, but he's starting to heat up. Perreault now has two goals and two assists in the last three games while averaging 18:40 of ice time over these contests. If your league favors players that will do it all, Perreault has 14 hits and a plus-6 rating over the past three contests. Still, tread lightly as this production is unusual for him this season -- in the seven games prior to this streak, Perreault only had one assist while averaging 11:52 of ice time.
