Raptors would love to bring Bismack Biyombo back but they know it will hard because of the money he will command.

Biyombo's impressive play in the postseason is going to get him a nice paycheck this offseason. He doesn't bring much to a team on the offensive end, but when it comes to rebounding the basketball and protecting the rim, he's a borderline-elite option.

Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri said re-signing DeMar DeRozen is their number one priority but would not commit to giving him a max deal.

DeRozan has become almost of a polarizing figure in Toronto, reminiscent of the Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady Toronto days. DeRozan averaged 23.5 points, four assists and 4.5 rebounds per game for the Raptors this past season. He was instrumental in them making it as far as they did and it will be interesting to see how what DeRozan decides to do.

Raptors plan to give Jonas Valanciunas a larger role next season.

In 60 games this season, Valanciunas averaged just under 13 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. His impact on the team may have been overshadowed during the postseason by Bismack Biyombo, but regardless, this team needs Valanciunas. Also, don't forget how talented he is - he wasn't drafted fifth overall a few years ago for no reason.

Derek Dietrich (head) was healthy enough to come in as a replacement on Monday.

This is great news that all but clarified the notion that Dietrich avoided a concussion or major head injury. He's hitting .325 with three homers and 22 RBI as Dee Gordon's primary replacement.

Bryce Harper left Monday's game with a knee injury.

Even if the injury is minor, the fact of the matter is that it's to a guy who was a top three pick in virtually every draft this year. He's had a rough May, but he's a fantasy game changer, and there aren't all that many of them. Consider him day-to-day, but stay tuned for an update on the superstar outfielder.

Paul Goldschmidt went 1-for-3 with a solo home run against the Astros on Monday.

After a relatively slow start to the season, Goldschmidt has hit safely 11 times in his last 13 games, helping push that batting average to .258 on the season. Goldy is a .300-plus hitter, so with time, that batting average will creep up to where it has been in years past. The offense around him, even without A.J. Pollock is still very good, so his counting stats shouldn’t suffer too much. For the season, Goldy has 10 home runs, 33 RBI, 27 runs scored and six stolen bases. He is 1-for-2 off tomorrow’s starter Lance McCullers.

Jake Lamb went 1-for-3 with a solo home run against the Astros on Monday.

Lamb has homered four times over the past two weeks and has developed into a top-10 fantasy performer at his position. A hitter friendly ballpark gives him a great opportunity to continue to produce, and Arizona seems confident in giving him the everyday reigns at the hot corner. He’s hitting .280 on the season with eight home runs and 27 RBI.

Edwin Escobar allowed eight runs (seven earned) on 10 hits and one walk while striking out two on Monday against the Astros.

Those who consider themselves extreme optimists probably had a lot of positive thoughts for Escobar in this one. Sure, the Astros strikeout just under a quarter of the time, but don’t be fooled, because they are extremely powerful, just ask Escobar. He was knocked around for 10 hits in this one and watched seven Astros cross the plate on his account. He has no fantasy value moving forward, so make sure this guy is not on your roster.

George Springer went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI on Monday against the Diamondbacks.

Springer is a streaky hitter, but the good thing for fantasy owners is that he’s enjoying one of those streaks right now. He has 13 hits over the last week, including two home runs, four RBI and five runs scored. He hasn’t swiped a bag in quite some time, so those hoping for a 30/30 campaign should realize that might not be realistic. A 30/20 campaign is well in reach for Springer and there is no reason that he should ever leave your lineup.

Jason Castro went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, three RBI and one run scored on Monday against the Diamondbacks.

With Evan Gattis starting to get some reps behind the plate, Castro may see some of his playing time diminished. Regardless, he’s a much better option behind the plate, so when the games are big, he’s going to be doing the catching while Gattis will serve as the designated hitter. Castro was in a funk of late, but he broke out of it today with his two hits and three RBI.
