Michael Campanaro (quadriceps) has started to run and expects to be ready for the start of training camp.

Campanaro suffered a torn quad early in minicamp but it's a good sign that he will be ready for the start of camp. Campanaro caught seven passes during his rookie season but hopes to make a bigger impact this season. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Ryan Kerrigan (knee) has been able to start running and said his rehab is going well.

Kerrigan is expected to be ready for the start of training camp at the end of this month as he rehabs from knee surgery. Kerrigan is coming off a 2014 season where he totaled 64 tackles and 13.5 sacks. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Colts signed linebacker Justin Shirk on Thursday.

Shirk went undrafted this past season out of Division II Bloomsburg University. He will add some depth for the Colts as they enter training camp but is a long shot to make the roster. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Jaguars QB Blake Bortles said he was dealing with a dead arm toward the end of his rookie year.

Bortles had a rough rookie season and this gives us some insight as to why he didn't fare too well down the stretch. Jacksonville has a very talented wide receiver corp, so Bortles is going to have plenty of weapons at his disposal this season. The second-year quarterback is expected to make a strong step forward and makes for a valuable commodity in dynasty leagues. Analysis: David Kerr

TE Antonio Gates has been suspended for first four games of NFL season.

Gates joins the laundry list of players to be suspended today, as Gates will miss the first four games for PED use. Expect the future Hall of Famer to stay in excellent shape, but it's a shame that fantasy owners will be without his services until week 5. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

NFL announces Datone Jones has been suspended without pay for the first game of the 2015 regular season for substances abuse.

Jones becomes the third player to be suspended today for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The defensive end is a solid player and the Packers' 2013 first-round pick is hoping to see a big year, although it will begin in week two. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Rolando McClain suspended first four regular-season games for violating league's substance abuse policy.

The Cowboys defense took a hit with McClain's suspension, as they were looking forward to getting their two best linebackers--McClain and Sean Lee--back on the field together. McClain will be back in action Week 5 against the Patriots. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

The Texans released Brandon Ivory.

Ivory was an undrafted free agent rookie and had a tough road to making the team already. But after being arrested for burglary on Wednesday morning it looks like Ivory's NFL career is all but down the drain for now. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Jets DL Sheldon Richardson has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the 2015 regular season, per the NFL.

Richardson has been suspended for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Entering just his third season, Richardson is already establishing himself as one of the best defensive linemen in the game, coming off his first Pro Bowl in 2014. The suspension could hinder his high goals for this upcoming season, including a run at Defensive POY. Once his suspension is up, Richardson will be rejoining one of the best defenses in the NFL.  Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Dez Bryant and the Dallas Cowboys are reportedly on the verge of a contract extension.

You had to know the Cowboys were going to give in to Bryant's hold-our/tantrum. Without him, the passing attack is barely mediocre. The team let DeMarco Murray go to free up money to sign Bryant to a long-term extension, so the cat and mouse game that's played out these last couple of months were just that -- a game. Analysis: Howard Bender

Brandon Ivory was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree burglary.

This was the first Texans' arrest in quite a few years. His status with the team moving forward is unknown, but he was likely just a rotational guy among the team's stacked defensive line. There hasn't been any word yet if he will face any additional punishment from the National Football League. Analysis: Colby Conway

Brandon Spikes has pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a recent car crash and has received a fine and year of probation.

Spikes was cut on June 8 and this situation hurts his chances of latching on with another team moving forward. Spikes has always been an off-the-field issue, even dating back to his University of Florida days. Analysis: Colby Conway

Bills signed OT Wayne Hunter.

Rex Ryan loves Wayne Hunter so much, that he got a Hawaiian tattoo to help convince him to sign with the Jets back in 2008. These two have a history together and it makes perfect sense for Hunter to make the move to Buffalo with Ryan. The problem is, if Hunter starts for the Bills, that means they have literally no other options at the tackle position. He should just be used as depth. Analysis: Drew Phelps

C.J. Spillman has been officially charged with sexual assault stemming from an incident last September at the Cowboys team hotel.

Spillman is still a free agent, and he is not likely to sign anywhere following this news. Spillman had 16 tackles in 16 games with the Cowboys last season. Analysis: Steve Pimental
