FANTASY PLAYER UPDATES & NEWS

Dion Jordan was absent from the team's offseason workouts this week and his future with the Dolphins is in doubt.

Jordan has been a major disappointment since joining the Dolphins and it appears that the team is ready to cut bait. He is likely to pick up elsewhere but is unlikely to have any major impact. Analysis: Howard Bender

Free-agent G Rob Sims has received a contract offer from the Lions.

Sims is currently mulling over the offer sent by his former team, the Lions. He'll likely fill in as a back up lineman if he chooses to sign with the club. Analysis: Ben Diamond

According to a source close to the team, Eagles have rescinded the RFA tender to RB Chris Polk. He will become a free agent.

With the off-season signings of Ryan Mathews and DeMarco Murray, in addition to the dangerous Darren Sproles who was acquired via trade in last year's off-season, there is just a log-jam of players who are far more talented than Polk in Philly's backfield.  Analysis: Brad Costilo

Jets announce S Jaiquawn Jarrett has signed his RFA tender, as expected.

In 2014, Jarrett hat 41 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, one fumble recovery and two interceptions as a back-up Free Safety for the Jets. With this signing, the Jets are looking forward to having Jarrett back up Calvin Pryor again in 2015. Analysis: Brad Costilo

The Cardinals have yet to make a choice whether to invoke Michael Floyd’s option, which would lock him up through the 2016 season.

This is surprising, as the 25-year-old Floyd is clearly better than his 2014 stat-line would suggest (47 catches on 99 targets for 841 yards and six touchdowns), as the Cardinals had arguable the worst Quarterback play of any team in the NFL. Most likely, the Cardinals will exercise their option soon, to avoid the risk of losing Floyd to Free Agency after this season. Analysis: Brad Costilo

The Chiefs have exercised their fifth-year option on DT Dontari Poe.

Poe continues to develop into one of the better Defensive Tackles in the NFL, racking up 46 total tackles and six sacks in 2014. The Chiefs will look for him to provide leadership and stability in the middle of their defensive line again in 2015. Analysis: Brad Costilo

Greg Hardy got into a verbal altercation with a teammate during Cowboys practice Friday.

You would think that Hardy, who just got hit with a 10-game suspension yesterday, would be on his absolute best behavior (at least until his appeal hearing is completed). The elite young pass-rusher has recorded 27 sacks in his last 32 games, and is expected to provide a huge presence in that Cowboys Defensive Line as soon as he's allowed to return from his suspension. Analysis: Brad Costilo

Titans signed WR Hakeem Nicks.

Nicks joins a receiving corps that just added Harry Douglas to the duo of Kendall Wright and Justin Hunter and also has a handful of no-names/also-rans. The parts seem so interchangeable at this point that it looks like a target pecking order won't be established until deep into camp. Analysis: Howard Bender

Chiefs GM John Dorsey said he has had contract discussions with LB Justin Houston's representative in the last three days.

This is going to be a situation that drags on as the Chirfs hit Houston with the franchise tag following his 22-sack season in 2014. The franchise tender is reported to be $13 million for linebackers and that's apparently not going to jibe with Houston or his agent. The two sides will continue to meet regularly to try and hammer something out, but there is obviously a significant distance between the numbers from each camp. Analysis: Howard Bender

Maurice Jones-Drew will sign a one-day deal to retire as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars next Tuesday.

This is fitting as Jones-Drew spent most of his career playing for the Jaguars. He will finish his career with 126 games played, 8,167 yards on the ground, and 68 touchdowns. Jones-Drew will likely continue his career as an analyst after he officially retires. Analysis: David Kerr

Rashad Jennings said he is completely healthy and is not doing any rehab work.

Jennings appeared in 11 games for the Giants last season and was rather successful when he was on the field. The Giants brought Shane Vereen into the fold, but it appears that Jennings will remain the workhorse. If Jennings can stay healthy over a full season, he will be a strong RB2 in 2015. Analysis: David Kerr

Free-agent G Mike Johnson worked out for the Dolphins this week.

Johnson hasn't seen regular action in the NFL since 2012 due to injury and is a long shot to make an NFL roster at this point. The Dolphins could bring him in as a free agent, but there are no guarantees that he will even make the team. Analysis: David Kerr

John Brown said has been trying to add more bulk during the offseason.

Brown had a couple of very strong games for the Cardinals last season and could see an increased role in this year. He will head into the season as the team's third receiver, but has the ability to be the top wideout for Arizona in 2015. Analysis: David Kerr

Geoff Schwartz said his injured ankle is progressing well and he is on schedule with his rehab.

The Giants are hoping that Schwartz is ready to go at the start of training camp, but there are no guarantees at this point. If Schwartz has any type of setback, Adam Gettis will fill in. Analysis: David Kerr

Andre Ellington's injured foot is about 95 percent healed, and Ellington has not suffered any setbacks.

It seems like only yesterday that Ellington was on the injury report every single week. Ellington isn't quite 100 percent, but he is getting close and should be fine once training camp starts. Analysis: David Kerr
