FANTASY PLAYER UPDATES & NEWS

LaDanian Tomlinson thinks Phillip Rivers wants out of San Diego.

Tomlinson, a former teammate of Rivers', seems to think that the QB not showing interest in signing another contract with the team is a clear sign of where his heart lies. It's likely a bit more complicated than that, as Rivers is outwardly opposed to the possibility of the team moving to Los Angeles. If they stay in San Diego, it wouldn't be surprising if Rivers stuck around for a few more years. Still, the Chargers are one of the many teams cited as a potential fit for Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota.  Analysis: Spencer Silva

Frankie Hammond signed his exclusive rights free-agent tender.

Although it’s harsh to say, many receivers see their careers take a downfall after going to Kansas City. Alex Smith isn’t capable of helping his star wideouts produce big numbers. Last year was a prime example in that Smith never connected with a wide receiver for a touchdown. Jeremy Maclin should break that this year and put up decent numbers, but he is the only wide receiver in Kansas City that should be drafted. Stay away from Hammond. Analysis: Colby Conway

Tashaun Gipson has yet to sign his restricted free agency tag and wasn't present at the Browns' voluntary workouts Monday.

Gipson was tendered at the second round level, but he was hoping for something more lucrative following a Pro-Bowl caliber season. He has a strong case to get paid, seeing as his 11 interceptions over the last two seasons are second to only Richard Sherman. Analysis: Colby Conway

Mike DeVito (Achilles') will be able to participate in offseason workouts, according to head coach Andy Reid.

DeVito made just one tackle last year before an Achilles injury ended his season. He will return this year and will likely be a pivotal force on the team's defensive line. He has 2.5 sacks and three fumble recoveries in nine professional seasons. Analysis: Colby Conway

Chandler Fenner signed his exclusive-rights free-agent tender.

Fenner recorded just seven tackles in eleven games for the team last season. He will likely just be positional depth the team this season and will see the majority of his action on special teams. Analysis: Colby Conway

Alex Smith (spleen) was medically cleared for the start of offseason practice.

Smith lacerated his spleen late last season, and it caused him to miss the season finale. He has been cleared to play and was able to work today with his new toy, Jeremy Maclin. Smith is more a game manager than a game changer, and he will be drafted accordingly. Analysis: Colby Conway

Denard Robinson said he has been working on his pass-catching skills in the offseason, lining up as a receiver and running routes.

Robinson is out to show the Jags why he is their top back for the upcoming season. He was a viable force out of the backfield, as well as catching passes. He can do a little bit of everything for fantasy owners, but the fact that Jacksonville has to abandon the run so early in games puts limits on his fantasy value. However, his 4.3 yards per carry average is going to be enticing on draft day, since he does have big play capabilities. Analysis: Colby Conway

Johnny Manziel reported for the first day of voluntary workouts Monday.

Manziel has completed his rehab program and is looking to be the team's starting quarterback in 2015. There has been speculation about the Browns drafting a quarterback in this draft, but we will have to wait and see. Their selections in the draft will give us a glimpse of what the organization thinks about Manziel, as well as how they feel about him as their starting quarterback. The draft will be a big indicator to us, and to Johnny Football, about his status in Cleveland. Analysis: Colby Conway

Kamar Aiken signed his exclusive-rights free-agent tender.

Aiken caught 24 passes on 32 targets for 267 yards with three touchdowns last season, but could be poised for a slightly bigger role this season. Aiken will be competing for a starting job this offseason, now that Torrey Smith is a 49er. He could be a guy you target in the later rounds, hoping that he is a steal for the season. Analysis: Colby Conway

Rams re-signed restricted free-agent Cory Harkey.

Harkey received an original round tender from the Rams, and he will be in a St. Louis uniform again in 2015. Harkey had just 11 targets last year, catching eight for 55 yards. Leave Harkey off your roster this upcoming season. Analysis: Colby Conway

Junior Hemingway signed his exclusive rights free-agent tender.

Hemingway didn't have much fantasy value in 2015, mainly because his volume of snaps was pretty low. He was targeted just 21 times last season, catching 12 of those for just 108 yards. His role will be similar in 2015, so owners shouldn't be considering drafting the former Michigan wide receiver. Analysis: Colby Conway

Tramain Jacobs signed his exclusive-rights free-agent tender.

Jacobs spent most of the year on the practice squad, but he did appear in the last three games of 2014. His tender was $510,000 and he will be back with the Ravens this upcoming season. Jacobs was considering playing for the Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns and the New Orleans Saints. Analysis: Colby Conway

Will Johnson signed his exclusive rights free-agent tender.

Johnson will come back to the team in 2015, but being a fullback, his fantasy value is limited. Even though his value in the fantasy realm is minimal, he's an important part of the offensive as a whole. His main contribution to the team in 2015 will be blocking for the running back and protecting Big Ben. Analysis: Colby Conway
