Fantasy Player Updates & News

Stephen Curry scored 33 points (13-21 FGA, 2-3 FTA) going 5-for-11 from three-point range with three rebounds, six assists and one steal against the Rockets on Thursday.

Curry carried the Warriors to a quick 2-0 series lead over the Rockets with a big win on Thursday as he shot 61.9 percent from the field for his second 30-point game of the series. At this point the reigning NBA MVP can't be stopped so expect to see him perform at a high level the rest of the playoffs.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

James Harden scored 38 points (13-21 FGA, 9-10 FTA) going 3-for-6 from three-point range with 10 rebounds, nine assists, three steals and one block against the Warriors on Thursday.

Harden managed to fall just one assist shy of posting a triple-double in Thursday's loss but it wasn't enough to help the Rockets get their first win of the series. We already know what we are going to get form Harden the rest of the way, so hopefully his teammates will be able to help his case next time on the court.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Dwight Howard will reportedly play in Game 2 of the Western Conference Final.

Howard didn't come out for pre-game warm-ups and coach Kevin McHale was unsure of his big man's status for the game. However it looks like treatment and rest has helped the situation and he will play. He may not see his usual minutes, but he'll be out there at least for the start. Analysis: Howard Bender

Rockets coach Kevin McHale says he is uncertain if center Dwight Howard (knee) will play since he has not worked out pre-game.

Howard, who is dealing with a knee sprain, took part in the morning shootaround but did not come out for pre-game warm-ups. He is likely receiving treatment and will be a game time decision. Analysis: Howard Bender

Marreese Speights (calf) is getting close to being able to run on a treadmill.

Speights has already been ruled out for the Conference Finals, but should the Warriors move on to the championship, there's a chance he might be available. The longer this series goes, the greater his chances. If he can run on the treadmill in the next few days, he could be ready should this one go six or seven games. Analysis: Howard Bender

DeMarre Carroll (knee) is being listed as questionable for Game 2.

Carroll suffered what looked to be a nasty knee injury on Wednesday night, but it sounds as though he dodged a huge bullet. If Carroll were to miss the rest of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Hawks' chances of advancing would decrease dramatically. We will have an update on Carroll's status on Friday. Analysis: David Kerr

Pelicans’ Tyreke Evans undergoes arthroscopic knee surgery on Thursday.

This was a standard surgery for Evans as he needed to get his knee cleaned up. There is no timetable for his return to basketball related activity, but there's no reason to think that he won't be ready for the start of the 2015-16 season this fall. He finished the year averaging 16.6 points and 6.6 assists for New Orleans. Analysis: David Kerr

Dwight Howard said his knee felt good after Thursday's practice.

According to ESPN Houston's Calvin Watkins, Howard has a Grade 1 sprain in his left knee. While Howard appears to be acquainting himself with the knee brace, a Grade 1 sprain is serious business. It would be a surprise to see him in the lineup Thursday. If this report is true, and he does somehow find himself in the lineup, don't expect customary minutes/production.  Analysis: Spencer Silva

Rockets coach Kevin McHale said Dwight Howard went through about half of shootaround Thursday. Mostly trying to get used to the brace on his left knee.

Howard is listed as "questionable" for Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals with a knee sprain. Howard suffered the injury during a collision with teammate Josh Smith during the first quarter of Tuesday night's game.  Analysis: Spencer Silva

Cavaliers coach David Blatt says Kyrie Irving is going through treatment and there hopeful he can play.

Irving aggravated an existing knee issue, but still seems pretty confident about playing in Game 2. It seems unlikely that he'll miss the game. Maybe, if there's a flare-up, he'll see a few less minutes, but it's doubtful he misses the whole game. Analysis: Howard Bender

LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Marc Gasol, Stephen Curry, James Harden, were all named the the All NBA first team.

Congratulations to them all. While there are likely bonuses set up in their contact for monetary reward, we fantasy folk can only offer them our well wishes. Perhaps a laurel...and hearty handshake will do. Analysis: Howard Bender

Mike Conley won’t sign a contract extension with the Grizzlies.

Conley will be on the free agent market in 2016 when the salary cap is expected to hit an all-time high for the league and he knows that a max contract then is going to be better than haggling over an extension right now. He's already proved himself to be vastly more valuable than the five-year, $40M deal he signed back in 2010. Analysis: Howard Bender

DeMarre Carroll's MRI reveals no structural damage. He'll be listed as day-to-day.

Now that there are official test results in and the reports of no structural damage are actually official, the Hawks can figure out what to do with Carroll moving forward. Obviously, they'd prefer to have him in the lineup over Kent Bazemore, but they'll simply have to take it day by day.  Analysis: Howard Bender

Update: Multiple sources feel there is no structural damage to DeMarre Carroll's knee.

We'll simply wait for the results from Thursday's MRI. He suffered a sprained knee during Wednesday's game and left the arena on crutches. He'll undergo tests Thursday and a determination will be made then. Analysis: Howard Bender

Kent Bazemore would see the greatest increase in minutes if DeMarre Carroll (knee) is out.

With Thabo Sefolosha out with an ankle injury, Bazemore has been Carroll's primary back-up through the playoffs. His minutes would take a massive increase if Carroll is out. Analysis: Howard Bender
