Pablo Sandoval (B) Headshot

Sandoval went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a pair of runs scored in Saturday's loss to the Phillies.

Sandoval has taken advantage of Philadelphia's poor pitching, collecting four hits and three RBI over his last two contests. The 31-year-old's production as a whole hasn't moved the needle since rejoining his old club Aug. 5, as he is batting .250 with one home run and four RBI in 13 games. That said, Sandoval is seeing regular playing time against right-handed starters while batting fifth for the Giants, which should be enough to warrant consideration in very deep and NL-only formats.

Denard Span (L) Headshot

Span went 2-for-4 with an inside-the-park home run and three RBI in Saturday's loss to the Phillies.

Span took Jerad Eickhoff's first pitch of the evening deep to right center where it caromed off the brick wall at AT&T Park and rolled around long enough for the veteran to scoot all the way home. It has generally been a quiet season for the 33-year-old, but he has be en fuego over his past seven games, batting .375 (12-for-32) with eight runs, two homers, eight RBI and a pair of steals. Span's recent hot stretch certainly deserves fantasy owners' attention.

Yangervis Solarte (B) Headshot

Solarte went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Nationals.

Saturday's home run was the veteran infielder's third since returning from the disabled list July 30. Solarte is just two homers shy of the career high mark of 15 he set in 2016 despite playing in just 90 games so far this season. He continues to provide modest fantasy value due to his multi-position eligibility and placement in the heart of the Padres' lineup.

Blake Parker (R) Headshot

Parker fired a scoreless inning while giving up one hit and striking out two in a 5-1 win over the Orioles.

Parker has arguably been the Angels' best and most-consistent reliever this season with a 2.30 ERA and 4.5 K/BB ratio, but he has yet to see a save opportunity in August while the club deals with a volatile closing situation. Manager Mike Scioscia stated that he has been deploying the 32-year-old in "high leverage situations" even if they aren't coming in the ninth inning. Parker's absence from the Halos' closing committee severely limits his value in fantasy formats.

Adrián González (L) Headshot

Gonzalez started at first base and went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's win over the Tigers.

Gonzalez has gone 2-for-8 with a double and two RBI since being activated off the disabled list Friday. The aging slugger was expected to be eased back into action following his lengthy layoff, but a minor injury to Cody Bellinger (ankle) could open up a few more starts than initially expected. Gonzalez's days of providing middle-the-order production appear to be in the rear-view mirror, but the 35-year-old can still provide modest fantasy value on days where he starts for a loaded Dodger offense.

Yasmani Grandal (B) Headshot

Grandal went 1-for-3 with walk and a solo home run in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Tigers.

The 28-year-old got off to a slow start in the month of August (.184/.295/.421 in 11 games), but he has picked things up in the power department over his last four contests with a double and two homers. Grandal now has 16 home runs on the campaign, and while his 7.4 walk rate is well below last year's 14.0 percent mark, he has replaced those free passes with base hits (.264 batting average compared to .228 last season). He will continue to see regular starts behind the dish against right-handed pitchers down the stretch.
4:23 am (EST)
Trevor Bauer (R) Headshot

Bauer (12-8) pitched 6.1 scoreless innings with four strikeouts during Saturday's win over Kansas City. He allowed seven hits and two walks.

Bauer has found a groove of late and won five of his past seven starts while posting an impressive 1.99 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 9.7 K/9. With Cleveland in the thick of a playoff race and boasting an admirable offense, Bauer's in a good fantasy position to finish the season strong. He lines up to face the Red Sox at Progressive Field in his next start.
