Yasmani Grandal Headshot

Yasmani Grandal is out of the Dodgers lineup on Thursday.

Like Adrian Gonzalez, and Corey Seager, Thursday is a day off for the switch-hitting catcher. Christian Friedrich, a southpaw, is on the hill for the Padres on Thursday which is resulting in the lineup moves. Carlos Ruiz will be behind the dish and batting fourth in Grandal's place before he returns to donning the gear on Friday in San Francisco for the season finale series.

Daniel Norris Headshot

Daniel Norris will now start for the Tigers on Friday.

Norris was scheduled to pitch on Thursday in the series finale against the Indians, however the game was postponed following a lengthy rain delay. His start will now be pushed back a day and give him an extra day of rest. Norris has been solid in his last three starts but is on the outside looking in with regards to any potential playoff rotation for Detroit. If the Tigers are in the Wild Card chase after Sunday's season finale, the game from Thursday will be made up on Monday.

Josh Gordon Headshot

Josh Gordon has decided to enter rehab instead of rejoining the Brown in Week 5.

Gordon is coming to the end of his four-game suspension for violating the substance abuse policy but is now adding another turn to his comeback. In a statement he released, he acknowledge that going to an in-patient treatment facility is better for him overall and his future in life rather than rejoining his teammates after this upcoming Sunday's game. Gordon has missed the past year and change while dealing with his issues but now he will elect to keep himself out longer while he continues to get his life in order. We wish him all the luck and his rehab and fantasy owners of him will just have to wait a bit longer to his return to their rosters.

Adrian Gonzalez Headshot

Adrian Gonzalez is out of the Dodgers lineup on Thursday.

A-Gon will get the day off on Thursday for rest while the Dodgers finish the series against the Padres. He has had a solid season in 2016, though his slugging and OPS will be the worst of his MLB career despite a .284 AVG. Howie Kendrick will be at first and leading off against Christian Friedrich on Thursday as they swap a right-handed bat in for a lefty. He should be back in the lineup on Friday in San Francisco.

Corey Seager Headshot

Corey Seager is out of the Dodgers lineup on Thursday.

Seager is getting a day off on Thursday as the Dodgers try to keep the All-Star shortstop fresh for the playoffs. Charlie Culberson will start at short and bat second against Christian Friedrich and the Padres on Thursday in his place. Seager should be back in the middle of the infield on Friday as the Dodgers finish the year in San Francisco.

Miguel Cabrera Headshot

Indians-Tigers game has been postponed due to rain.

The decision to postpone the series finale, and last meeting between the division rivals, came after a four hour and 13 minute rain delay halted the start of the game on Thursday. Detroit is still in the midst of the Wild Card race in the American League and if the game is needed to decide the final standings, a make up game is scheduled for Monday October 3rd.

Chris Sale Headshot

Chris Sale will start for the White Sox on Sunday against the Twins.

There was some talk that Tuesday's outing could be his last of the lost 2016 season for the White Sox, however Chicago has decided to put him on the bump one more time in the season finale. He owns a 17-9 record with a 3.21 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 227 Ks in 221 2/3 innings this season and should have a shot at posting his 18th win on Sunday. He has been the elite fantasy pitcher he was supposed to be despite the drama in the middle of the year that his scissor episode caused. He should be in fine shape for the 2017 season and will be one of the top-five pitchers again.

DeVante Parker Headshot

DeVante Parker (hamstring) is expected to play Week 4 against the Bengals.

Parker has been dealing with a hamstring injury for much of the season thus far but has caught 11 passes for 157 yards and a score in the two games he's played in. Typically Cincinnati's defense is a tough much, however this year they have been susceptible through the air giving up nine scores already. Parker is a risky play still given the short week and the ugliness that is the Dolphins offensive line and offense in general. Parker could be a flex play however there should be better options on your roster to play ahead of him.

Jarvis Landry Headshot

Jarvis Landry (shoulder) is expected to play Week 4 against the Bengals.

Landry was almost assured to play in the Thursday matchup despite the shoulder ailment. It's a solid matchup for the PPR machine to draw as the Bengals defense has been beaten frequently on deep passes this season. Landry is the top receiving threat for Ryan Tannehill in Adam Gase's scheme and is easily a high-end WR2 option and possibly a WR1 play in Week 4.

Joe Mauer Headshot

Joe Mauer is not in the Twins starting lineup on Thursday.

Mauer hasn't played since Sunday while dealing with a quad issue that is nagging at this point. The 33-year-old catcher turned first baseman has had a down season in 2016 and could remain out of the lineup for the remaining four games as the Twins simply try to shut the book on a terrible year. Kennys Vargas will remain at first base in the starting lineup and bat fourth on Thursday in his place.
