Adalberto Mejia (L) Headshot

Mejia (biceps) is scheduled to toss a bullpen session Thursday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The news is an indication that Mejia has started throwing off flat ground again after a left biceps strain suffered during his Aug. 8 start against the Brewers resulted in his activity being limited for a little over a week. Though Mejia hasn't been sidelined for long, the Twins will still have the left-hander report to a minor-league affiliate for a rehab assignment before he's activated from the 10-day disabled list, likely at some point in September. If all goes well during the bullpen session, Mejia could face hitters a few days later and begin the rehab assignment as soon as Aug. 30 or 31.

Keegan Bradley Headshot

Bradley closed with an even-par 70 on Sunday at the Wyndham Championship to finish seven-under and tied for 42nd.

Bradley failed to break par for the first time all week on Sunday, playing his first three rounds in a combined seven-under. He excelled off the tee throughout the tournament, ranking tied for fifth among the field in FIR percentage and ninth in driving distance. Bradley is currently 46th in the FedExCup standings heading into this week's Northern Trust.

Héctor Santiago (L) Headshot

Santiago (back) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The Twins pulled Santiago off his rehab assignment last week and gave him an injection to address the inflammation he had been experiencing in his back. It appears the shot has had its desired effect, as Santiago will be ready to take the mound again following a few days off for rest. If all goes well in the bullpen session Wednesday, Santiago will likely face hitters in batting practice over the weekend before restarting a rehab assignment Aug. 29. The left-hander could rejoin the Minnesota rotation at some point in September and aid in the team's push for a wild-card spot.

Tyler Flowers (R) Headshot

Flowers is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Mariners.

Flowers will get the day off after going 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Sunday's win over the Reds. Flowers has started three of the last four games behind the dish for the Braves, but Kurt Suzuki will take over for him Monday.
3:09 pm (EST)
Mitch Garver (R) Headshot

Garver will start at first base and bat seventh in the first game of Monday's doubleheader with the White Sox, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

The Twins have a couple openings in their lineup following the recent placements of Robbie Grossman (thumb) and Miguel Sano (shin) on the disabled list, and it looks as though Garver may receive the first crack at filling one of the voids. Garver, who posted a .928 OPS at Triple-A Rochester this season prior to being called up Friday, will receive his second straight start at first base while Joe Mauer assumes DH duties.
3:08 pm (EST)
Jason Castro (L) Headshot

Castro is out of the lineup for the first game of the Twins' doubleheader Monday with the White Sox, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Castro is likely just being saved for the nightcap with manager Paul Molitor awarding the start at catcher to backup Chris Gimenez in Game 1. Despite recording only one hit in 14 at-bats over his last four games, Castro still retains the top spot on the depth chart thanks to his defensive prowess and respectable on-base skills.
