Chris Heisey Headshot

Heisey will undergo an MRI on his right biceps Thursday to determine if he'll need surgery, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.

Heisey apparently tore his right biceps tendon while taking a swing during batting practice Wednesday, forcing him to land on the disabled list. While he maintains it's not a season-ending injury, more should be known following Thursday's tests.

Brooks Pounders Headshot

Pounders was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake following Wednesday's loss to the Rays.

Pounders was shuttled back to Salt Lake after tossing a scoreless inning Wednesday night, lowering his ERA to 7.71 through 4.1 innings (five appearances) with the big club this season. He'll wait around in the minors until the Angels need another relief option. The Angels are expected to announce a corresponding roster move prior to Thursday's series finale.

Keon Broxton Headshot

Broxton went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during Wednesday's loss to Toronto.

Broxton entered the game on a 16-game tear with three homers, 10 RBI, four stolen bases, 13 runs and a .354/.391/.600 slash line, and Wednesday's bomb only beefed up his heater. With his April struggles in the rearview mirror, the 27-year-old outfielder is in line to post an admirable cross-category campaign.

Fernando Rodney Headshot

Rodney walked a batter in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to pick up his 12th save of the season in an 8-6 win over the White Sox.

It's his eighth straight appearance without allowing a run, but it speaks to how poorly Rodney was pitching before that stretch that his 7.13 ERA is the lowest it's been in a month. The veteran closer's job security might last only until his next rough patch, but at least for now he's on something of a roll.

Adam Morgan Headshot

Morgan was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley following Wednesday's loss to the Rockies, Ryan Lawrence of PhillyVoice.com reports.

Morgan was sent back to Lehigh Valley after tossing three scoreless innings Wednesday, allowing three hits while striking out two. He'll head back to the minors until the Phillies need another bullpen arm. A corresponding roster move will be announced prior to Thursday's series finale with the Rockies.
