Marco Gonzales (L) Headshot

Gonzales allowed three earned runs on six hits and a walk over six innings in Triple-A Tacoma's 4-3 win over Sacramento on Monday. He struck out five.

Just acquired in the trade that netted the Cardinals promising slugger Tyler O'Neill, Gonzales impressed in a 91-pitch debut for the Rainiers. Factoring in his last six outings with Triple-A Memphis, the 25-year-old southpaw has rattled off seven straight quality starts, and could potentially see time in the big-league rotation before the end of the season.

Jorge Bonifacio (R) Headshot

Bonifacio went 3-for-5 with a solo home run during Monday's win over Detroit.

This was the third consecutive game with a homer for Bonifacio, and the rookie is now up to a .259/.331/.464 slash line with 14 bombs, 31 RBI and 41 runs. It's also worth noting that 12 of those long flies have come over his past 54 games dating back to late May. He's moving the fantasy needle in most settings and is also legitimizing his long-term power upside.

Ben Gamel (L) Headshot

Gamel is likely to see time at first base going forward whenever Danny Valencia needs a day off, Josh Horton of MLB.com reports. "I really have no reservations, if Danny needs a day here coming up, we're going to fire Gamel in there," manager Scott Servais said. "And I'd prefer it be on a day we had more of a fly-ball pitcher on the mound."

This isn't the first time there's been rumblings of infield playing time for Gamel, as he started taking grounders at the position before games back in early June. He saw one inning of game action at the position back on June 16 and feels he's ready to make occasional starts there as needed, particularly if it keeps him in the lineup.

Reid Boucher Headshot

Boucher signed a one-year, $687,500 contract with Vancouver on Monday, Sportsnet reports.

Thanks to the new contract, the restricted free agent will avoid his scheduled arbitration hearing on Aug. 1. Boucher's best showing in the NHL came in 2015-16 with the Devils when he managed 19 points in 39 games, but he hasn't done much since with just 10 points in 39 games split between New Jersey, Nashville and Vancouver last year. As such, it's not surprising his new deal isn't significantly higher than the league minimum.
12:22 am (EST)
Carlos Santana (B) Headshot

Santana went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs and three runs scored during Monday's win over Cincinnati.

The pair of long flies has Santana up to 12 for the campaign. He had just a single homer through his previous 24 games, and his .241/.340/.423 slash line also underwhelms. However, he's buoyed his fantasy value with 52 RBI and 55 runs. While Santana will be hard pressed to match last season's 34 homers at this stage of the game, he's still a serviceable fantasy asset in most settings.
12:20 am (EST)
Sonny Gray (R) Headshot

Gray has become a subject of trade interest for the Mariners according to a source familiar with the team's thinking, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Seattle general manager Jerry Dipoto has already stated he will only move top prospects for controllable starting pitching, which accurately describes Gray's contract status. The right-hander is under team control through the 2019 campaign and just 27 years old, making him an appealing target. The Mariners have already traded promising slugger Tyler O'Neill this month for Cardinals left-hander Marco Gonzales, and acquiring Gray would likely require parting ways with top prospect Kyle Lewis (knee).
12:18 am (EST)
J.T. Riddle (L) Headshot

Riddle has been dealing with left shoulder tendinitis, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.

Riddle has now missed four consecutive games with the shoulder ailment. If the utility infielder isn't able to suit up in the next couple of days he could be placed on the 10-day disabled list to allow the Marlins to occupy his roster spot with a healthy body. He remains a day-to-day case.
12:15 am (EST)
Zack Cozart (R) Headshot

Cozart went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Monday's loss to Cleveland.

The shortstop is turning in a solid fantasy campaign with a .318/.404/.570 slash line, 12 homers, 39 RBI and 48 runs. Cozart is also locked into the two-hole of the lineup, which is a ripe setup to continue posting solid numbers. It's worth noting that his .353 BABIP is unsustainably high, though.
12:15 am (EST)
Miguel Rojas (R) Headshot

Rojas injured his shoulder during Monday's game against the Rangers, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.

Rojas suffered the injury while diving for a ball in the sixth inning but was able to stay in for the remainder of the game. The shortstop will see a doctor on Tuesday to determine the severity of his injury. He'll be considered day-to-day for the time being.
