Brian Roberts Headshot

Brian Roberts (hamstring) practiced Tuesday and is expected to play in tomorrow's season opener.

The Hornets were just being cautious with Roberts in the preseason which was the reason for his absence. He won't make much of an impact if at all as long as Kemba Walker and Ramon Sessions are healthy. Look for the 30 year old guard to just be depth at the PG position this season.

Ronny Turiaf Headshot

Ronny Turiaf has announced his retirement from the NBA.

Turiaf will end his career averaging 4.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. Though he didn't put up big numbers in the stat book he was always loved by fans and the team. The 33-year-old Frenchman will be missed.

Anthony Davis Headshot

Anthony Davis (knee) is practicing Tuesday.

After playing 37 minutes in Thursday's preseason game, Davis is practicing Tuesday. He had 33 points with 13 rebounds and four assists. Not sure why he played as much as he did especially since Davis hasn't been able to stay healthy throughout his career. Davis has tremendous upside this season as long as he can stay healthy.

David Cobb Headshot

Bears signed RB David Cobb to their practice squad.

Cobb was cut by the Titans at the end of training camp and was recently let go by the Steelers practice squad. This signing seems to be only for depth for the Bears at the running back position.

Nik Stauskas Headshot

Nik Stauskas was able to claim a spot on the Sixers' Opening Night roster.

After missing some time in the preseason due to injury, Stauskas was able to claim a roster spot. Stauskas will not have much impact on the Sixers but they need plenty of depth at the position which ultimately helped him make the team.

Wayne Ellington Headshot

Wayne Ellington (quad) is doubtful for Wednesday.

This news doesn't have much fantasy impact since Ellington won't play a significant role in Miami. The only player it may impact is Rodney McGruder who may see a few extra minutes.

Tyler Johnson Headshot

Tyler Johnson will open the season as the Heat's backup point guard.

The Heat really love what they have in Tyler Johnson. They have worked hard on turning him into the player they want. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said "the game is slowing down for him because he is so quick, so aggressive, gets into gaps — but he’s doing it with more thought now." "He’s seeing the defense. He’s seeing what he can attack and let the game come to him while he’s still being himself," Spoelstra added. Miami will play him behind Goran Dragic and use him in a role similar to Manu Ginobili in San Antonio as a combo guard. Johnson should see more than 20 minutes per game which makes him draftable in standard-leagues.

Eric Gordon Headshot

Eric Gordon will open the season as the Rockets' starting shooting guard.

Patrick Beverley had knee surgery and will miss at least the first 20 games of the season. The Rockets will likely bring him along slowly to not risk further injury. This means that Eric Gordon starts the season as the Rockets starting two-guard on opening night. "With me starting, I’m going to have to guard mostly the top perimeter guy and that’s fine," Gordon said. "They will have to guard me also." Gordon averaged 15.2 points and nearly three assists per game in 2015. Beverley is still worth a late round stash because of the up tempo nature of the Rockets game.
