Angels outrighted LHP Lucas Luetge to Triple-A Salt Lake.

After designating Luetge earlier this week, the Angels have now sent him back to Triple-A Salt Lake. The 29-year-old lefty has not made an appearance in the majors this year, but holds a career 4.35 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 7.5 K/9 across 89.0 innings of relief in the bigs since 2012.

Braves designated Reid Brignac for assignment.

Brignac went 6-for-29 with two doubles over 13 games since being called up by the Braves back on May 2nd. At 30 years of age, the veteran infielder is obviously not a part of the rebuilding plan in Atlanta.

Jordy Nelson (knee) was limited to stretching and running routes on air during the first public practice of organized team activities.

Nelson is apparently confident that his surgically-repaired knee is ready to go, but it is more than understandable that the Packers' staff will take no risks with their star receiver this far out from the regular season. After combining for 183 receptions, 2,833 yards and 21 touchdowns between 2013-'14, Nelson missed all of last season. He is looking for a major comeback in 2016.

Diamondbacks placed Shelby Miller (finger) on the 15-day disabled list.

Miller has apparently been dealing with discomfort in his right pointer finger since banging it into the ground last month. However, at this juncture, that simply seems like a reason to get the struggling righty out of the rotation and let him attempt to regroup. Through 10 starts this year, Miller has pitched to a dreadful 7.09 ERA while surrendering 10 homers and 29 walks across 45.2 innings. He is 1-6 with only one quality start which, interestingly enough, came against the team that dealt him to Arizona this past offseason in exchange for a slew of young talent.

Saints coach Sean Payton said that C.J. Spiller's health and movement skills is noticeably different this year.

Coach Payton and company seem to feel that much of Spiller's struggles last season were mainly due to never fully getting recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery last August. The coaching staff in New Orleans believes he can bounce back in 2016 and be a integral part of the offensive attack.

Will Smith (knee) will pitch in back-to-back outings for Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Smith has been out all season due to a torn LCL in his right knee, but he appears to be very close to joining the Brewers' bullpen. The towering southpaw put together a stellar 2015 for the Crew, posting a 2.70 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 12.9 K/9 across 63.1 innings of relief.

Redskins medical team and coaching staff have agreed to hold Junior Galette (Achilles) out of the action until training camp, which begins in late July.

Though Galette has been steadily progressing from the torn Achilles that kept him out all of last season, the Redskins are understandably taking no unnecessary risks with the talented pass rusher. Galette racked up a combined 22.0 sacks for the Saints between 2013-'14 and hopes to return to that form in 2016.

Matt Belisle (right calf strain) will make a rehab appearance Saturday with Class A Potomac.

Belisle has been out of the mix in the Nationals' bullpen since April 26th, but appears to be close to returning. The veteran reliever had been pitching well before he went on the DL, posting a 1.50 ERA and 1.17 WHIP across 6.0 innings.

Jhonny Peralta will report to Double-A Springfield on Friday after going 3 for 13 in five rehab games at Single-A Peoria.

Peralta appears to be moving right along without any hiccups in his rehab assignment. The Cardinals will see where the veteran shortstop is at in the process following this weekend and could activate him from the DL as soon as next week.
