DFS MLB Hitting Coach: May 28

Brad Boxberger could be activated from the 15-day disabled list on Monday.

The Rays have indicated that he will resume his closer duties upon being activated. Of course, his activation will depend on how he feels after his Friday minor league appearance. Alex Colome has been stellar in taking over the closer role in Tampa Bay, so this makes for an interesting development with regard to fantasy bullpens, as well as the real life MLB situation with the Rays.

Brandon Belt is in the Giants starting lineup on Saturday.

Belt had been day-to-day after suffering a minor ankle sprain while sliding into base on Wednesday. He will resume his duties at first against Colorado right-hander Eddie Butler. He will hit in the fifth slot in the order.

Hunter Pence is in the Giants starting lineup on Saturday.

Fantasy owners as well as the Giants themselves are overjoyed about this news. This is the first game Pence is starting after sitting out except for pinch-hitting duties over the prior six games the Giants have played. Pence will return to patrol right field and hit sixth in the batting order.

Christian Yelich is not in the Marlins starting lineup on Saturday.

He has been dealing with a back issue, that has limited him to pinch hitting duties only over the past seven games. Cole Gillespie is in left against the Braves, and is hitting seventh.

Stephen Vogt is not in the Athletics starting lineup on Saturday.

Right-handed hitting Josh Phegley will handle the catching duties against the host Tigers, who are sending southpaw Matt Boyd to the mound in Saturday's game. This looks to be a match up decision, as there is no word that Vogt is hurt.

Ryan Braun is not in the Brewers starting lineup on Saturday.

Just a day of rest for Braun, who has played the past five games after sitting out several games with a minor back injury. He will carry a 29 game on-base streak into the next game he plays. Alex Presley will hit seventh and handle Braun's usual duties in left field against the visiting Reds.

Trevor Story is batting second for the Rockies on Saturday.

Story had been hitting down in the order, but heads back up to the top of the lineup for Saturday's matchup against the Giants. He had gone 3-for-8 over his last two games, where he was hitting in the seven hole.
