Donatas Motiejunas Headshot

Donatas Motiejunas had until Wednesday night for his physical with the Rockets and never showed.

At this point, Houston should just let him go. There was a difference in the money between the Rockets and the Nets, and that is the reported reason as to why he won't show up. This is definitely something to watch moving forward, because Motiejunas is a quality player who has averaged 7.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game over his career.

Nikola Jokic Headshot

Nuggets coach Mike Malone could make changers to the starting lineup Thursday.

The Nuggets battled back tonight, but ultimately still lost. Also the fact that it was to the Brooklyn Nets makes it even worse. Wilson Chandler and Will Barton have been the only real bright spots on this team to date.

Rodney McGruder Headshot

Rodney McGruder said his ankle is fine and he will play Friday.

McGruder logged 31 minutes tonight, and played pretty well. He said he's going to be fine moving forward and that he'll be out there on Friday night. With that in mind, his ankle injury can't be that serious.

Christopher Heston Headshot

Mariners acquired RHP Chris Heston from Giants.

Going to Seattle is actually a good thing for Heston because it's going to be much easier to crack the rotation here, compared to his former squad. An oblique injury ended his 2016 campaign, but there's not much worry that it carries into spring training. His fantasy value is low, however, considering the fact that he'll head into camp behind Nate Karns and Ariel Miranda for the final two spots in the rotation. He's only an injury or a dominant spring training away from cracking the rotation.

Richie Shaffer Headshot

Mariners designated Richie Shaffer for assignment.

Shaffer has been pretty bad in brief major league stints, so it's not a real surprise that he's been designated for assignment. He shouldn't be on any fantasy draft boards this season.

Demar Dotson Headshot

Demar Dotson missed Wednesday's practice due to a concussion.

Dotson has started every game for the Bucs this season and he will need to pass the league's mandated concussion protocol if he wants to play this weekend. The Southern Mississippi product should be considered "out" until he passes the protocol.

Dashaun Phillips Headshot

Redskins signed CB Dashaun Phillips to the practice squad.

Phillips has appeared in three games this season, registering seven tackles in two starts. He isn't worth owning in any IDP formats, so for your sake, he's just another guy on the practice squad.

Claude Pelon Headshot

Jets signed DL Claude Pelon to the practice squad.

Steve Mclendon, Muhammad Wilkerson and Leonard Williams did not participate in practice, so it's not a bad idea by the Jets to go add another defensive lineman to the practice squad. He may not even make it off the practice squad, but the Jets were proactive, at the very least.

Derrick Favors Headshot

Derrick Favors has been ruled out for Thursday's game.

Favors has missed the last 12 games with this knee injury and unfortunately for the Jazz, there is still no clear timetable on his return. He's still considered day-to-day, but it gets to a point where that designation gets frustrating. His next opportunity to return his on Saturday against the Kings, but chances are he won't play.

Rodney Hood Headshot

Rodney Hood (hamstring) has been ruled out for Thursday's game.

Hood left the team's last game with a sore hamstring and the fact that he's already ruled out for tomorrow's contest is far from reassuring. It still seems that it is just soreness, which is good, considering that he could have pulled something. Since he's out for tomorrow, his next opportunity to return to the court will be on Saturday.
