It is by far the busiest part of the NFL Season. Opening week is always filled with so much confusion, frustration and surprise that it is nearly impossible to keep all of the moving part straight. At this point most of our drafts are finished but now we are dealing with players who have been cut, injured or just plain benched. Over the years I have made it a tradition to dive head first into all of the rubble in order to put together a neat and orderly list to help all of our Fantasy Alarm customers. So here is the 2013 edition of what I like to call Suspensions, Cuts & PUPs.
(Updated AUGUST 16th) There will be a lot of fantasy points scored by WR’s this season especially in PPR type formats. But that also means there are a ton of WR options out there in drafts. More than half of NFL teams had three WR’s who caught over 60 passes last year for an average of 696 yards and 4 TD’s. What that means to us is that there are WR options out there in the later rounds who will make a huge impact on your season. Last year players like Josh Gordon, Randall Cobb, James Jones, Michael Crabtree, Lance Moore, Justin Blackmon, Mike Williams, Santana Moss, Torrey Smith and Sidney Rice were all late round picks who wound up with WR2 or better numbers. So as you browse these WR rankings remember that there isn’t nearly the drop off from one player to the next as there is at the RB or TE position.
