A week ago, 13 wide receivers were targeted in double digits and we took note. Week 12 saw an amazing 18 reach the milestone. What does this mean? We’re not sure, but it certainly strengthens the belief that the passing game should be strongly considered for the flex position. The usual suspects populate the big time targets but some newcomers as well!
Some new faces surfacing in the passing game among running backs. The new faces emerging gaining opportunity due to injury and unfortunately only for the short term. We also saw some old reliable backs not getting their usual “looks” but for the most part they made up for it in the ground game.
Another wild week tracking wide receiver targets as last week’s stars disappear and new players emerge. Exciting, must have free agent targets like the Giants Victor Cruz, Jason Avant of the Eagles, the Steelers Antonio Brown, Green Bay’s James Jones and Carolina’s Legedu Naanee all were big time fantasy disappointments after “break out” performances in Week Six. Big “money” receivers are also returning from injury, giving owners the points they have been hoping for, or better yet deserve! New waiver pickups have also emerged and we’ll break down who they are and who is “delivering” with given opportunity.
