Red Sox president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski said there are no guarantees, but Clay Buchholz is likely to make his next start.

To say Buchholz has struggled would be putting it nicely, as the righty just gave up a home run and a double on his first two pitches of his last start on Wednesday and has a 6.31 ERA in 12 starts this season. "I anticipate he'll start for us again," Dombrowski said. "I anticipate. But you're asking me questions and we haven't even had a chance to get showered, basically. So, we still have time to sit down and visit and have all those types of discussions. But I anticipate he will." With Joe Kelly also struggling, being sent down to Triple-A on June 2, the back of the Red Sox' rotation isn't looking very hot right now.

Jonathan Papelbon will begin a rehab assignment Monday night with Single-A Potomac.

In the middle of a recovery from a right intercostal strain, it's not for sure how long the Nats closer will be in Potomac. Placed on the 15-day DL retroactive to June 13, Papelbon has recorded 16 saves with a 1-2 record and 3.28 ERA this season. The 35-year-old is on the tail end of a relatively successful career as a closer. Much of his success can be attributed to his longevity and health, as this is his first career rehab assignment. There has been plenty of controversy surrounding Papelbon throughout his Nationals career, although he will be able to help the Nats stop this cold streak they've been on -- although his absence has been far from a top reason for their struggles.

Ben Simmons told reporters he is excited to get back on the court with Joel Embiid.

Philadelphia finally has a big reason to be excited about their Sixers. Simmons has all of the potential in the world to win Rookie of the Year and become a multi-time All-Star and eventually a superstar in this league. And if Embiid can stay healthy and capitalize on his immense potential, the pair could end up becoming one of the better big men duos in the NBA. Simmons can get to the bucket and finish with both hands at the rim while Embiid's offensive skills are very raw, but he can clean up misses with rebounding in addition to controlling the paint on the defensive side.

Hassan Whiteside plans on making his free-agency decision on July 1.

Despite plenty of weaknesses, Whiteside's superior defense and rebounding has made him one of the hottest free agents in Summer '16. It seems like the Heat and the Lakers are the top potential landing spots for the big man, who averaged 14.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game in 2015-16. Whiteside, who is also being courted by the Mavericks, Blazers and Warriors among others, is excited to be one of the top five free agents this summer. "I find it flattering, because in my past, I was trying to call those teams and now it's the other way around," said Whiteside. "It's a flattering experience and I'm thankful for this opportunity."

Michael Conforto went 1-for-3 in first game with Triple-A Las Vegas.

In his first game since being demoted from the Mets, Conforto tallied a single but that's it. Barring any injuries to their other outfielders, it doesn't look like Conforto will be coming back to the bigs anytime soon as he struggled with a .222/.296/.431 slug line with just 30 RBI (including 63 Ks to just 22 BBs).

Yunel Escobar was diagnosed with a bone bruise on his left knee.

Escobar hasn't been on the field since suffering the injury on Thursday, but he is still not a candidate to hit the DL, according to manager Mike Sciosia. “He’s making slow progress,” Scioscia said. “We’ll just have to keep reading it. Obviously if it gets out to the sixth, seventh, eighth day, you’re going to start to see where the balance is. But, right now, hopefully he’s going to make progress and be available.” Escobar is the top trading chip for this struggling Angels team so it is in their best interest to make sure he is healthy and on the field as much as possible with his .310/.359/.409 slug line.

Yu Darvish (elbow), who threw a bullpen session on Sunday, is scheduled to throw a simulated game Wednesday in New York, which is expected to last three Innings with 12-15 pitches each frame.

Darvish's bullpen on Sunday was the first time he had been on a mound since going on the DL on June 9 with shoulder soreness. After coming back from Tommy John surgery on May 28, the 29-year-old made three start before finding himself back n the DL. Following the 30-pitch bullpen session, the Rangers are hopeful Darvish can return before the All-Star break. Although the Rangers have been one of the best teams in baseball, Derek Holland and Colby Lewis both hit the DL last week so they are in need of getting Darvish and his 2.87 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 2016 with him.

Henry Sims will play for the Nets' Summer League team.

While it remains to be seen if Henry Sims will sign with the Nets this off-season, he will play for their summer team. Sims appeared in 14 games with the team last year with 6.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in just under 19 minutes per game. With teams searching for depth at center, Sims could be in line for a job next season as long as he performs well this summer.

Bucks GM John Hammond said that Giannis Antetokounmpo will be "one of the team's primary ball-handlers" this season, but he's unlikely to defend opposing point guards.

A huge part of The Greek Freak's upside is his versatility to score, rebound and pass. If he's given a bigger role as a ball handler, it will give him plenty more opportunities to create plays for himself and his team -- aka racking up points and assists for your fantasy squad. Giannis had plenty of times to shine last year in the primary ball handler's role after Michael Carter-Williams went down. The fact that MCW will be defending the other team's point guard means Giannis will be able to rest up more on defense and still be able to protct the rim.

Update: DJ LeMahieu (knee) will be checked out on Monday to determine the extend of his recent injury.

After an early diagnosis of a knee contusion, the Rockies will check him out again on Monday to try and discern the extent of the injury. LeMahieu's status for next week in fantasy is now clouded. Those in weekly formats will need to monitor this situation as it develops.
