Corey Nelson Headshot

Nelson (elbow) was ruled out for the rest of the season, Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post reports.

Nelson has been playing in a reserve role all season, so fantasy owners won't miss his contributions. He played in an increased role last season, though, racking up 68 tackles (47 solo). He'll now focus on next season while Zaire Anderson logs the leftover snaps. Nelson will likely be placed on injured reserve, so expect the Broncos to activate a new linebacker.

Malte Stromwall Headshot

The Rangers placed Stromwall on unconditional waivers Friday, James Mirtle of The Athletic Toronto reports.

The Swedish forward inked a two-year deal with New York ahead of the 2016-17 campaign, but he only managed to tally six points in 44 games with AHL Hartford last season, and was relegated to the ECHL this year. Now that his contract with the Rangers has been terminated, he'll likely head back overseas to continue his career.

Mark Borowiecki Headshot

Borowiecki (upper body) remains day-to-day ahead of Saturday's home contest versus the Maple Leafs, Brent Wallace of TSN.ca reports.

The Senators really could use the defensive masher against the Buds, as Toronto's young core led by sophomore sensation Auston Matthews currently sits atop the league in goals per game.
1:51 pm (EST)
Boone Jenner Headshot

Jenner (back) was taken off injured reserve Friday, Tom Reed of the Athletic Cleveland reports.

Jenner is still considered day-to-day according to coach Jon Tortorella, but appears to be trending in the right direction for a return to action Saturday. If he suits up against the Kings, it would mark the winger's 2017-18 debut. In order to make room for Jenner, the Blue Jackets sent Markus Hannikainen down to AHL Cleveland.
1:51 pm (EST)
Donald Stephenson Headshot

Stephenson (undisclosed) was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post reports.

It's unclear what is holding back Stephenson, so it's tough to say when he'll return. Regardless, he's a reserve lineman and wasn't expected to play much anyways.
1:48 pm (EST)
Bogdan Bogdanovic Headshot

Bogdanovic (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Mavericks, James Ham of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Bogdanovic's rookie debut with the Kings will have to be put on hold for at least one more contest as he continues to nurse a right ankle sprain. The rookie's next chance to play will be Saturday against the Nuggets in Denver.
1:46 pm (EST)
Zack Smith Headshot

Smith (upper body) will miss at least one week, according to Senators coach Guy Boucher, Brent Wallace of TSN.ca reports.

Based on that timetable, fantasy shareholders of Smith should expect him to miss the next four games. This is a significant blow for Ottawa, as the Saskatchewan native plays in all situations -- 3:02 of ice time on the power play, 1:50 on the penalty kill this season.
1:46 pm (EST)
Evan Rodrigues Headshot

Rodrigues (hand) is still considered week-to-week, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.

The 24-year-old winger has already missed the first seven games of the campaign due to a hand injury, and he evidently hasn't made much progress in his recovery over that span. The Sabres should release another update on his status once he's able to return to practice, but Rodrigues can be ignored in most season-long fantasy formats. He only tallied six points in 30 games last season, and will likely occupy a bottom-six role once he's fit to play.
1:46 pm (EST)
Kwon Alexander Headshot

Alexander (hamstring) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Buffalo.

Alexander was a full practice participant all week and should be ready to reclaim his starting job in the Tampa defense. The 'questionable' designation is a non-concern, as the Bucs are using it on a number of players who aren't actually in any danger of missing Sunday's game. There is some chance Alexander doesn't step right back in as a three-down 'backer, considering how well Kendell Beckwith has played in his absence.
1:45 pm (EST)
Menelik Watson Headshot

Watson (calf) was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post reports.

Watson will miss his first game of the season, and Billy Turner will likely slot into his place.
