Ray’s Ramblings: Friday’s Follies

Wilson Ramos went 2-for-4 with a home run (3), two RBI and one run scored against the Cubs on Friday.

There is a premium for solid fantasy catchers and Ramos is vaulting himself to the top of the list. He hit a monster home run on Friday that cut the Cubs lead to just two runs. Ramos got Lasik eye surgery this offseason and it has clearly paid off. We doubt he’ll be able to keep his average above .350, but he’s had quite an impressive approach at the dish in 2016

Henry Owens was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket.

Owens has really struggled this season, with poor fastball command and reduced velocity. He'll look to improve in Triple-A, though it's hard to count on much production from the former top prospect for a while.
