We are hitting the half-way point in the season as we start Week 9 and right now it is a two person race between Drew Phelps and myself.  The rest of the competitors need a real hot streak in the next few weeks to get back into contention.  Week 8 was not kind to those chasing with all of them with a below .500 week.  There are some real tough games to pick this week with some very interesting lines.  Here are the picks for the Week 9 Five Game Parlay.

Ted Schuster of Fantasy Alarm (@Tedschuster)

Arizona Cardinals @ Green Bay Packers -10

The Cardinals have been absolutely terrible as of late and I have no idea how they started 4-0.  Green Bay has been inconsistent almost all season but with absolutely no offense from Arizona they should be to manhandle the Cardinals at home.

Minnesota Vikings @ Seattle Seahawks -4

Christian Ponder has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the league the last few weeks and now they head west to Seattle against a very tough defense.  Seattle should grind this game out and have no problem winning by double digits.

Carolina Panthers  +3 @ Washington Redskins

The Panthers had no business losing to Chicago last week but could not capitalize on its chances so maybe they have figured some things out.  This game could see some points with the Redskins and Panthers defensive issues.  Every game with Washington seems close so I like Carolina to cover.

Buffalo Bills @ Houston Texans -10

Ryan Fitzpatrick can play well vs. bad teams but has been awful against strong defenses.  I expect the same thing to happen again this week with Houston able to run at will against Buffalo.  Houston wins by 20+.

Chicago Bears -3.5 @ Tennessee Titans

Chicago has some issues but the good news is that they are playing the Titans this week.  Tennessee makes too many mistakes and the Bears are one of the best at making teams pay for them.  The Titans may hang around but fall apart in the 4th quarter.

Michael Stein of Fantasy Judgment (@FantasyJudgment)

Buffalo Bills @ Houston Texans -10

The Bills defense is atrocious and Houston will look to further that point in their first matchup against former 1st overall pick Mario Williams and company.  The Texans are rolling and should have no problems running or throwing the ball.  This one will not be close.  PREDICTION:  Houston 37  Buffalo 17

Pittsburgh Steelers (+3) @ New York Giants

It has been an emotional week for the NJ/NY area and the Giants will look to provide some temporary relief for a battered fan base.  The Steelers are flying into New Jersey hours before the game, but despite that I like them in this matchup.  The Giants typically don’t play their best at home and this could be a letdown after several big wins in a row.  PREDICTION:  Pittsburgh 27  NY Giants 20

Philadelphia Eagles (+3) @ New Orleans Saints

Andy Reid and Michael Vick are on the hot seat on the heels of a big losing streak.  It is never easy to go into New Orleans, but the Saints are all but finished for the playoffs at this point.  I see a big game from Vick to save his starting job.  PREDICTION:  Philadelphia 31  New Orleans 27

Carolina Panthers @ Washington Redskins -3

This is an intriguing matchup of Cam Newton vs. Robert Griffin III.  The Redskins are the better team and should be able to put up points against a poor Panthers’ defense.  Look for lots of quarterback rushing yards in this one.  PREDICTION:  Washington 35  Carolina 23

Tampa Bay Bucanneers (+2.5) @ Oakland Raiders

This rematch from the Super Bowl ten years ago is quite different than back then.  Tampa Bay has played better offensively than anticipated led by rookie Doug Martin.  The Raiders should score some points too but they will probably be during garbage time.  PREDICTION:  Tampa Bay 33  Oakland 27

Jeff Mans of Fantasy Alarm (@jeff_mans)

Indianapolis Colts (+2.5) vs. Miami Dolphins

The Colts are a much better team at home.  The Dolphins are a tough team but without a lot of top tier talent.  Give me the home team in this one with the points.

Seattle Seahawks (-4) vs. Minnesota Vikings

This is the easiest game of the week here. The Seahawks are crazy tough at home and the Vikings aren’t nearly as good at their record says they are.  Seattle wins this game going away.

Atlanta Falcons (-3.5) vs. Dallas Cowboys

I am playing a double reversal here.  I truly think that the Cowboys can and just might win this game.  However, this is the type of game I feel that way about and it turns out just how it should with the Cowboys choking down the stretch and losing the game.  I’m going with the Falcons to stay undefeated and do it by more than a FG.

Tampa Bay (+2.5) at Oakland Raiders

The Bucs have had 10 days to prepare for the unimpressive Raiders.  The Bucs are a team that is getting better as the weeks go on while the Raiders have a bunch of square pegs for round holes.

Buffalo Bills (+10) at Houston Texans

I’m taking a risk here but what the hell.  Both teams coming off a bye and I think that Buffalo will give the Texans a run for their money in this contest.  Plus there’s the Mario Williams factor and Chan Gailey having two weeks to build an offensive gameplan sounds awfully enticing to me.

Drew Phelps of SiriusXM (@djdrew05)

Denver Broncos -3.5 @ Cincinnati Bengals

Peyton Manning is hot and the Bengals defense hasn't been able to stop anyone over the past 3 games.  No reason to think the Broncos will slow down now.

Chicago Bears -3.5 @ Tennesse Titans

If you can stop Jay Cutler to Brandon Marshall, you can stop the Bears, but I don't feel like the Titans defense can keep up and stop their connection.  The Bears will roll over Tennessee.

Tampa Bay Bucaneers +1 @ Oakland Raiders

I think anyone getting points against the Raiders should be taken and this case even better that it's one of the hottest teams in the league.  Freeman & Martin keep their momentum through Oakland on Sunday.

Arizona Cardinals @ Green Bay Packers -10

Arizona looked pathetic on Monday night against the 49ers.  They have no run game and their only threat is Larry Fitzgerald with Jonathan Skelton throwing him the ball.  Green Bay has straightened things out and should have no problem covering the Cardinals.

Dallas Cowboys @ Atlanta Falcons -3.5

I do not believe in Dallas with Tony Romo and Jason Garrett running the show.  One of those two will make a mistake that costs the Cowboys this game.

Hannah Landrigan- Mineral Area College Cheerleader (@HannahLandrigan)

Houston Texans (-10) vs. Buffalo Bills

I just don’t like Buffalo.  I’ve never been there but it seems really dirty and gross.  And the Texans have only lost 1 game all year!

Tennessee Titans (+3.5) vs. Chicago Bears

A friend of mine lives in Tennessee.

Miami Dolphins (-2.5) at Indianapolis Colts

Who roots again a Dolphins?!?!  They are way too cute 

Green Bay Packers (-10) vs. Arizona Cardinals

My Dad has told me to pick Green Bay every week so I am.

Jacksonville Jaguars (+5) vs. Detroit Lions

Another Florida team?  Sure why not?

Want to know a little bit more about each participant?  Really?  You do?  Why?  Well, in that case, we profile each competitor.

Ted Schuster is the co-host of the Fantasy Alarm Show on SIRIUS/XM with Jeff Mans.  Always the angriest person in the room and never afraid to say someone sucks.  I am always hating on someone or some team.   Lifelong sports fan that will watch just about every sport around but nothing compares to NFL and College Football which is what you can find me doing each and every weekend during the fall and winter months.

Michael Stein of Fantasy Judgment is the Supreme Court Justice of the Fantasy Football world.  Stein is the man to go to if you have any sort of issue in your fantasy football league. Fantasy Judgment is the site you need if you have a rogue commissioner who is pulling things over on your league, a trade that just seems to be really fishy, or any other kind of shenanigans that can take a good fantasy league and make it turn badly. Not to mention the fine work that he does for us here at Fantasy Alarm.  Stein picks like he has had a lobotomy, so be careful before you put any of your hard earned money on any selections that he makes!

Jeff Mans has played fantasy football for over 20 years and is my partner on The Fantasy Alarm Show.  Jeff’s outside the box thinking has served him well and gained him much attention throughout the fantasy sports industry.  He’s won many championships but few friends in the process.  Although he has a wealth of knowledge and never shuts up, he knows that he’ll need to get through me to win this competition.

Drew Phelps is the Executive Producer of the Fantasy Alarm Show on SiriusXM Satellite Radio.  Lifelong suffering Washigton DC sports fan and very cynical when it comes to his own teams, but can you blame him?  He has been in handicapping sporting events for over 10 years now but just really hit his stride over the past couple seasons especially in the NFL.

Hannah Landrigan is a Freshman cheerleader at Mineral Area College in Missouri.  She is a legend on Twitter (@hannahlandrigan) mostly for her hot as hell pictures of her under a waterfall but also for her quick wit and social commentary.  Her favorite team in all of sports is the Duke Blue Devils college basketball team.  She is admittedly not a big NFL fan but likes to play rough with the boys and thus is in it to win it.
