Week 4 was just one of those weeks.  There is so much that didn’t make much sense from fourth string RB’s breaking out to impossible late game comebacks to stud injuries that started in the knee and somehow traveled into the foot.  It’s very important to not react too violently to all that has transpired on this wild Sunday afternoon.  Brian Hartline really isn’t that good.  Jackie Battle isn’t a starting fantasy RB.  Julio Jones and Jeremy Maclin are too important to their teams to not be a factor going forward.  So, let’s all take a deep breath and relax for a moment while we go over each and every game as told from a reasonable fantasy perspective.

Kealoha Pilares 36 yard TD reception

Michael Turner 60 yard TD reception

Notes

Falcons were pinned back on their 1 yard line with under a minute to go but a 59 yard catch by R. White moved them down the field quickly.

Michael Turner’s TD reception was the first of his career.

Cam Newton is so much better when he uses his legs early in games to give him and the team confidence.

There is really limited fantasy value in Jacquizz Rogers. He’s just not involved in the offense very much.

Donald Jones 68 yard TD reception

Rob Gronkowski 28 yard TD reception

Notes

The Bills led 21-7 with 8 minutes left in the third quarter before the Pats went on a 35-0 run to ice the game

Tom Brady was not really in the endzone on his TD run. Replays CLEARLY showed his knee was down.

Brandon Bolden is worth a look on the waiver wire this week. It appears as though he’s the RB2 in NE.

CJ Spiller is clearly the better RB in Buffalo. He’s the better one to own the rest of the way.

Matt Stafford 1 yard TD run

Notes

Ponder’s longest completion of the day was 27 yards that wasn’t even intended for Jerome Simpson.

The Lions want to not force the ball to Calvin Johnson but that is all that works for them.

Mikel LeShoure looked tired and broken down today. We may not have seen the last of Kevin Smith.

C. Johnson should have had a TD late in 1st half but got hit after the catch in endzone and dropped it.

Battle starts in the first series for the Chargers not Mathews

Casell only looks for Dwayne Bowe

1st play for Mathews in the 2nd quarter completely misses a swing pass to him as he is not looking

St Louis really trust Zuelein their kicker as they kick a 58 yard FG midway through the first quarter

Brian Quick was active but still not involved in the offense at this point

Steven Jackson has seen all of the work early on and does not appear to be limited at all

Notes

Colin Kapernick much more involved in the offense this week including throwing the ball and goal-line action

Epps back-up for Keller who is out fumbles and tears knee up.  Should have NOT have been a ruled a fumble

Manningham has a potential 49 yard TD catch go off his hand as for some reason he does not use 2 hands

Despite the game being completely out of hand, Mark Sanchez still playing late into the 4th quarter

Manning 55 yard INT return TD

Jackson 63 yard INT return TD

Notes

The threat of the run continues to allow Andre Johnson to be wide open on play action passes

Tennesse is not just not in sync in anything that they do whether passing or running

The offensive line is having issues protecting the QB anytime they drop back for the Titans

Chris Johnson finally got going a bit in the running game and they will need it if this team is going to improve

Notes

BenJarvus Green-Ellis fumbled twice today after fumbling for the 1st time in his career last week.

Good to see Justin Blackmon finally involved in the offense.  He’s a high end WR4 going forward.

Andy Hawkins three consecutive TD streak came to an end today.

Laurent Robinson suffered his second consecutive concussion on his first catch of the game.

Reggie Bush was active and looked fast and strong in his cuts today.

Andre Roberts is a guy who has made tremendous strides from last season to this one. He’s worth a roster

Spot for sure at this point.

Notes

Peyton Manning only threw 5 balls over 10 yards in this ballgame. He’s only a low end QB1 at this point.

The Raider defense is horrible and they absolutely must get DMC the ball more to be competitive.

DeMaryius Thomas had a sure TD on a screen pass but fumbled the ball while switching hands after 40 yards

Ronnie Hillman looks like he’s now officially the RB2 in Denver.

Jordy Nelson 11 yard TD reception

Notes

Garrett Hartley missed a 48 yard FG attempt with 3 mins remaining that would have put the Saints ahead.

The Saints failed to sack Aaron Rodgers despite 41 passing attempts. Their defense is awful.

Keep an eye on Greg Jennings during the week as James Jones could be a very good pickup this week.

Darren Sproles clearly fumbled the kickoff after Jordy Nelson’s TD but Packers were out of challenges.

Notes

RG III is a fantasy stud. The Redskins are determined to keep him running near the goal line which is great news for fantasy owners.

The Bucs only running the ball 18 times in any game is criminal. They have to run to win, period.

Billy Cundiff missed his first 3 FG attempts in this game before hitting the game winner.

Connor Barth has connected on 25 consecutive field goal attempts.

But got a second chance because of the timeout and missed that one also.

Ahmad Bradshaw is back to full strength and will be the primary ball carrier for the Giants again.

McCoy rushed for just 2 yards in the first half before exploding for 121 in the second half.
