Fantasy football is a funny game.  Just when you think you have everything figured out and know what to expect from teams, players and opponents things change.  We saw two of the best offenses in football shut out this week.  Players like Doug Martin, Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks crippled fantasy teams this week.  The hottest players in the land like Danario Alexander, Josh Gordon and David Wilson failed to make any impact whatsoever.  Even studs like Ray Rice, JaMaal Charles, Reggie Wayne and Roddy White couldn’t avoid breaking fantasy owners hearts this week.  If you were fortunate enough to start Russell Wilson, Sam Bradford or Kirk Cousins then you not only should thank your luck stars but also play the lottery while you’re at it.  Week 15 was once again about survival so if you still have a heartbeat no matter how faint you should thank your lucky stars.  Let’s recap everything that we’ve learned from the most disappointing week of the fantasy season so far:

The much hyped Giants defense could not get off the field at all as ATL was 9 for 13 on 3rd downs

Atlanta did not gain a ton of yards of the ground but made sure to smash the Giants in the mouth

Notes

Adrian Petersen is now 294 yards away from tying Eric Dickerson rushing yardage record

Bradford ending up with a great game but was the biggest reason they were so far behind

Amendola did all of his damage late in the game when the Rams were forced to pass every down

The Vikings have a chance to be a playoff team as long as they don’t have to throw the ball with Ponder

Alshon Jeffrey was called for 3 offensive pass interference penalties

Mason Crosby missed two more FG’s today and there is no way he is kicking for the Packers next week

Aaron Rodgers  took a big pounding today as well and was limping around on a few occasions

Leonard Hankerson TD receptions of 2 & 56 yards

Alfred Morris TD runs of 3 & 8 yards

Notes

Cousins was a very nice find for the Redskins this year.  He could develop into an average NFL Starter.

Despite the fantasy numbers, Trent Richardson has been less than stellar in his rookie season.

Kai Forbath has been a huge upgrade for the Redskins. He’s been a high end fantasy player too since signing.

RGIII gets all of the credit but the Redskins offensive and defensive lines have played much better of late.

Chris Harris 98 yard INT return for TD

Torrey Smith left game with a possible concussion

Eric Decker 51 yard TD reception

Bernard Pierce left game with concussion

Dennis Pitta TD receptions of 31 & 61 yards

Notes

The problem with the Ravens offense obviously wasn’t Cam Cameron. It’s more like Joe Flacco and no WR’s.

There isn’t a player in football who is playing harder than Knowshon Moreno right now.

Eric Decker had a 12 yard TD catch called back because his foot was out of bounds at the 1 yard line.

Bad day for DeMaryius Thomas & his owners who probably lost this week due to this poor performance.

Notes

Reggie Wayne had an amazing TD reception called back due to penalty late in the 2nd quarter.

MeWelde Moore fumbled on the Texans 1 yard line much to the dismay of Vick Ballard owners.

I would be very nervous starting T.Y. Hilton in a championship game next week. Huge upside, big downside.

Owen Daniels has cooled off greatly since his midseason hot streak. He is boarderline startable next week.

Notes

I had a bad feeling about Doug Martin and it turned out to be true. I’d still start him in all leagues next year.

The Saints are the kings of running up the score on opponents which is obviously great for fantasy owners.

Jimmy Graham is still a top 2 TE in fantasy but it’s impossible to have kept up the pace he set last year.

Vincent Jackson owners should be real happy that he got 5 of his 6 catches in the 4th quarter of this game.

Greg Toler 102 yard INT return for TD

Notes

Say what you will about Matt Stafford but he has done quite well this year despite losing nearly all his WR’s.

If you didn’t start Beanie Wells today you did the right thing. Cards could easily have got shut out as well.

I was really let down by Scheffler’s performance today. Too many drops which have plagued him for years.

Larry Fitzgerald will be an absolute steal in the 5th round of drafts next year.

Mike Tolbert TD runs of 1 & 1 yards

Zach Williams was injured in pregame warmups

DeAngelo Williams 45 yard TD reception

Steve Smith 4 yard TD reception

Notes

The Panthers are an inspired Cam Newton and a couple DB’s away from being contenders in the NFC.

Danario Alexander’s big zero today was absolutely devastating for so many fantasy teams this week.

Ryan Mathews broke his “other” collarbone today. His bones are literally made of matchsticks.

It is so bad in San Diego that the games have been blacked out in Southern California for the past 3 weeks.

Stevie Johnson 20 yard TD reception

Notes

CJ Spiller should be a 1st round pick in most leagues next year. Don’t forget about him.

If Russell Wilson uses his legs like he did today, he can be a solid starting QB in the NFL.

Seattle’s 108 points the last 2 weeks are the third most in a two game span in NFL history.

There is no reason to ever sit Stevie Johnson. He is a bonafide WR2 in any fantasy league.

Ernie Sims left game with a concussion

Heath Miller 30 yard TD reception

D. Van Dyke left game with a shoulder injury

Antonio Brown 7 yard TD reception

Notes

Bryant was used mostly as a decoy today but he made big plays when called upon & should be in your lineup.

As long as Roethlisberger is starting, Heath Miller and Mike Wallace are every week fantasy starters.

This was Jason Witten’s first TD of the season despite having 92 receptions and 880 yards.

The Steelers really need to be running the ball more especially in close games like this was today.

Notes

Firing Hue Jackson was a bad mistake by the Raiders. This offense was built for his style of offense.

The Chiefs are going to have to be blown up and rebuilt starting with this offseason.

The Raiders only gave up 175 yards of offense to the Chiefs today the least amount since 1975.

Terrelle Pryor played 1 series today handing off twice before throwing an incompletion on 3rd down.

Clark Haggans left game with a shoulder injury

Michael Crabtree TD receptions of 27 & 38

Notes

49ers were leading this game 31-3 at one point before a furious comeback by the Patriots.

Woodhead was in the game a lot because Pats were playing from behind. Don’t worry about Ridley.

LaMichael James had a 60 yard kickoff return which lead to 49ers last TD which killed the Pats momentum.

Tom Brady’s 65 pass attempts were the most he has ever attempted in a single game in his career.
