It is finally time for the payoff. The past two months we have watched every single preseason game. We have read every practice report. We have agonized over every little injury. We’ve found something to dislike about each and every player in the NFL. But now the draft season is finally done. It is time to put all of our predictions over the past few months into a giant pot and watch them boil. Every week I will be posting my player rankings right here. You can use these to make that difficult lineup decision, roster move or trade. But most importantly, use these as a crutch in case you lose your matchup this week so that you can easily point back at me and blame me for the loss. Hey…I’m here to help!

It’s funny to me how many people set their lineups in week 1 according to how they drafted before the season. When I see this I realize that the person making those rankings has little to no understanding of what they are doing. Preseason rankings are based on full season projections. Just because I believe Aaron Rodgers could have the most TD passes this season doesn’t mean he will have the most in every week. It seems obvious but so many are making these judgmental mistakes that I feel compelled to address them. This week I really like Michael Vick, Phillip Rivers and Jay Cutler to begin the season hot while Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger and Ryan Fitzpatrick will probably be slow out of the gate. Here are my top 24 QB’s for week 1:

Every RB in the NFL has some sort of drawback to them as we enter the 2012 season. Maybe this is why so many were advocating drafting QB’s & TE’s in the first couple rounds. Either way there will be RB’s who step up and post big fantasy numbers this week. The key to getting the most from the position is to not be afraid. Injuries will happen. If you aren’t playing aggressive then you are playing for third place. I don’t play for third place. So with that here are my week 1 RB rankings:

If you are expecting anybody at the TE position to rack up as many points as Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham did last year you are setting yourself up for major disappointment. No TE is going to catch 17 TD’s this year and I doubt that any break the 1000 yard barrier as well. Thus there are going to be TE’s like Kyle Rudolph and Greg Olsen who are far more valuable than people think this year. Here are my week 1 TE rankings:
