J.J. Watt Headshot

J.J. Watt is likely done for the season after undergoing back surgery on Thursday.

It appeared as though Watt was never fully healthy this season and this just confirms it. He is a warrior and one of the absolute best players in the game. The Texans are hoping that he will recover and be 100 percent for the start of next season. In the meantime, Houston's defense is going to take a big hit.

C.J. Spiller Headshot

C.J. Spiller participated in his first practice with the Seahawks on Thursday.

Spiller was brought in as insurance due to Thomas Rawls continued injury issues. While he landed on a 53-man roster, Spiller just isn't all that good. He can be left on the waiver wire outside of deep leagues.

Clint Boling Headshot

Clint Boling was removed from Thursday's game due to a left arm injury. His return is questionable.

Boling got tied up with a Dolphins defender and experienced an injury to his left arm. He will be reevaluated in the locker room and the Bengals should update his status soon.

Starling Marte Headshot

Starling Marte (back) will not play again this season.

Marte has been in and out of the lineup over the last month of the season, but Pittsburgh has decided to officially shut him down. He had a strong year for the Pirates, batting .311 with nine home runs, 46 RBIs, and 47 steals. He'll be a top 40 pick in all formats next year.

Jordy Mercer Headshot

Jordy Mercer (forearm) is unlikely to play against the Cardinals on the final three games of the season.

Mercer is dealing with a forearm issue and because the Pirates aren't playing for anything, the team feels there is no reason to push Mercer. He will finish the season with a .256 average and 11 home runs.

Ryan Vogelsong Headshot

Pirates manager Clint Hurdle told reporters that Ryan Vogelsong will start Sunday against the Cardinals.

This will be the final game of the season for Pittsburgh and it's pretty wild that Vogelsong will be getting the start. He was brought in last winter as a stopgap in the fifth starter's spot, but between injuries and trades, Vogelsong will close out the 2016 season for the Pirates. Vogelsong has an ERA of 5.00 over 23 appearances, 13 of which were starts.

Moe Harkless Headshot

Moe Harkless told reporters that his shooting have gotten better after altering his technique.

This is good news for Harkless and the Blazers, but we'll see how this translates into game action. Harkless averaged 18.7 minutes and 6.4 points per game in 2015-16, but saw an uptick in minutes during the playoffs last season.

Aaron Gordon Headshot

Aaron Gordon (ankle) participated in most of the Magic's Thursday's practice because it was a non-contact session.

Gordon continues to recover from an ankle sprain that he suffered prior to training camp. He will continue to push through, but is already behind as he gets ready for the start of the 2016-17 season. If Gordon is unable to start when the season begins, Mario Hezonja will receive the bulk of the playing time at small forward.

Joey Votto Headshot

Joey Votto was forced to leave Thursday's game after getting hi in the face.

Votto was hit in the chin on an errant throw after legging out a double. He experienced noticeable bleeding and the Reds decided to pull him out of the game. There's a real chance that he could be back on Friday, but if Cincinnati decides to hold him out again, he'll at least play in one of the Reds' final two games of the year.

Andrew Toles Headshot

Dodgers added Andrew Toles to the NLDS roster.

Toles has appeared in 46 games for the Dodgers this year and is batting .311 with three home runs and 15 RBIs. This is no small feat for Toles considering that this is his first cup of coffee in the major leagues. He will serve as a bench bat and defensive replacement for the Dodgers.
